I believe that the authors of the OT were holy men, but I believe some wrote a little of their own beliefs and used metaphors and parables to give us an understanding of God's will...

Tell me, if you saw a fissure that was indeed caused by water bursting out, would you know it? Or would you quote more secualr science about what should be there if it really was the flood. No one was there. Let me ask something. If the layers were laid down over millions of years, how come there aren't any erosion marks between the layers?

 

Yes you would indeed know that the fissure was created by water b/c it would be surrounded by rocks that are created by water depositing minerals much like you see around gysers at Yellowstone. If the fissure was formed by igneous rock you would know that it was a site of volcanic activity b/c igneous rock is formed by volcanoes.

 

Most of the layers we see are the result of deposition from erosion. Water runs off higher areas and takes material with it and deposits it into other areas laying down the layers we see today. Over time continents collide and lift layers and shove some underneath of others. One reason we don't find dinosaur fossils in Ky is b/c during that time the area was at a higher elevation and no deposition took place. The Appalachians at the time looked more like the Rockies and most of the sediments were washed away by rivers and rain before they could be deposited.

Answers In Genesis is Ken Hamm's rag. He won't admit it but he believes in evolution. It's obvious by his seminars (which I've seen) and his "creation museum" as a video in page one of this thread illustrates.

 

Interesting thing about Hamm's museum. As you walk through the doors there is a sign that says something to the effect of "prepare to leave reason behind" that's right folks, using your God given brain is a sin.

SO who are you submitted to? The word of God or man? I don't need to historical evidence to back anything that God tells me. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God, at least my Bible says so. And How have I alienated the world? Since the Lord is willing that all should come to repentance I think he can get his Word out.

I said nothing about the text of Scripture but about the "translation" of scripture and in particular the KJV.

 

I submit to God alone and use Scripture as the written revelation of God for the purpose of revealing his message and self to humanity.

Science is science. There is no such thing as Secular science or Religious Science.
