If you get them then you are a genius and a good chance that the Sooners go ahead maybe without looking back. They didn't get it and he is a fool. Stoops is a great coach and has done an amazing job at Florida+Okl. He has been waxed in the big games as of late though. It sure was fun watching WVU's coach+kids with the passion they had last night. He even pulled out a "West By God Virginia" in the post game show. My only dissapointment is that they never did put White, Devine + Slayton in the backfield at the same time. I don't know how in the world you could defend that. I kept scratching my head why WVU didn't throw down the middle of the field off play action anymore? The 2 safeties were inverted and flying down every play. WVU hit it early for a TD and finally threw it again for the knockout punch. Devine was flat out SICK! That kid cuts on a dime and has wheels! I don't think folks will miss Slayton nearly as much as most used to think! White didn't throw very well but he is fun to watch too. They have a lot back next year on offense.

January 3, 200818 yr The ESPN post-game interview with Owen Schmitt was an instant classic. That is how a tough kid having played his last game for his school should feel. Not only that, but hearing this kid's story shows you what hard work and dedication will get you. He wasn't heavily recruited out of high school. He went to a DivIII school where the coached asked him to sit out practices because he was hurting too many players. He and his mom put together a recruiting tape and delivered them to various DI schools even though Schmitt thought he was too small to play in the Big East. WVU said he could walk-on, he did, and the rest is history. The kid will definitely be making a living playing on Sundays.

While I somewhat agree with what you are saying, coaching 101 teaches us not to go for back-to-back plays that can really hurt your team. In this case he took a point off the board and gave them supberb field position.
