January 2, 200818 yr The same people on Mike and Mike said yesterday that if the NCAA ever did decide to go to a playoff system that ratings would be off the charts, and the college playoffs would own the month of December, surpassing even the NFL. The guy filling in for Golic (can't think of his name) is the one who said this. I wouldn't be surprised. Could you imagine if the play offs lasted through December with the championship on New Years night? Ratings would be through the roof.

The guy filling in for Golic (can't think of his name) is the one who said this. That guy was Sean Sailsbury (spellimg??). He is probably right although we all know that it will never happen. I really can't stand him along with quite few others on ESPN. This guy is one of the most arrogant ones on ESPN (and that is saying something). He usually is an NFL commentator. I really like the Mike and Mike show...when both of them, Golic and "Greenie" are there. I just have to laugh at all of these guys (espn, fox, etc..) coming up with "playoff scenerio's" and the like when it is all a "what if" and "if a frog had wings...." kind of deal . I guess that is what they are there to do though :thumb:.
January 2, 200818 yr Typical result.....this should've happened a couple of times this season.....at least now, the Boisie issue will get out of some people's heads. It also further validates how good a win that was last year. With that, How fun would a four game matchup with USC, UGA, LSU, and OU be right now?
January 2, 200818 yr Georgia is one of the top two teams in the Country. IMO They proved it agianst 12-0 Hawaii
January 2, 200818 yr In defense of Brennan, he had ZERO time to throw. :thumb: Brennan was a pinata, and the Georgia defense was not wearing a blindfold. Thing is, they were not bringing extra pressure. They essentially stayed in a nickel look all night and dropped 7. The UGA front 4 was vastly superior. People always ask what the biggest difference between big boy college football and WAC, Sun Belt, etc. caliber football. It is the size and speed of the offensive and defensive lines. There is not a shortage of athletes that can run, but there are a shortage of top caliber lineman.
January 2, 200818 yr In defense of Brennan, he had ZERO time to throw. :thumb: Very true. UGA didnt even blitz alot. They were getting to the QB with 4 guys. And only really only needed 2 (The 2 DEs) .
January 2, 200818 yr The game was a blow out and that shocked me, I thought Hawaii would make some what of a game out of it and I was wrong. I was however dissapointed in Georgia for running up the score. Starting the 4th quarter up by 5 scores and you leave your starters in? Passing on 1st and 10? Going for it on 4th down and goal up 4 scores.....sheesh what did they prove except they have no class. The georgia fans were just as bad chanting "overated" and booing when Hawaii finally scored. Hawaii fought as hard the last 5 minutes as they did the first 5 minutes and I applaud them for that, and when they finally scored If you hadnt looked at the scoreboard you would have thought they had taken the lead. They are a smal school with alot of heart and determination, unfortunately that wont give you a win over teams like georgia.
January 3, 200818 yr what did they prove except they have no class. Seriously? There was a classless team in the Sugar Bowl, but it wasn't UGA.
January 3, 200818 yr you dont think winning by 5 td's was good enough? why not atleast run the ball especially when they did it with ease and eat time off the clock. coming out with 4 wide outs throwing down field is a bit bush league if you ask me.

Hawaii's embarassment had a lot more to be with their vaunted offense being held about 40 under their average until the TD at garbage time? Am I the only one that would have benched Brennen earlier--The backup looked to have a lot more zip on the ball? I think Brennen might have been hurt, as he virtually never tried anything longer than a 8-10 yard pass; even on the rare occasion he had time?? IMO he's got no shot at the next level.
