Georgia 41 Hawaii 10

I believe I read that UH's entire recruiting budget is something like $50k. That's amazing.

Hawaii did a big favor to the BCS conferences. They undid a lot of the work done by BSU last year.

June Jones has even commented that being in the BCS game is just as important or even more important for recruiting than the game itself. They have few opportunities to travel the mainland and were excited with that opportunity.

For comparison, I found the following:

In 2002, the average MAC school spent $90k.

Marshall spent $140k.

UGA spent $500k.

I know Nebraska is like UGA 500k, Im guessing thats probably what most programs of that stature spend on it except for USC, for them that doesnt even cover the Reggie Bush family house.

Just a shocking game, Georgia comes in the big underdogs and they take it to the higher ranked team. Great performa...

Wait, Georgia and Hawaii are who we thought they were or would be or possible would end up being.

Just sad and not fair if a team runs the table next year on a weak schedule and don't get the BCS invite because this Hawaii team was one dimensional with no defense.

With that said, very nice job by Georgia.

Georgia was a 9 point favorite.

Just think. If Hawaii played in the SEC they would need to be prepared to play Florida, Tennessee, or LSU next week. Wonder how many of their players would be out? SEC the real deal.

The Mike and Mike Show this morning commented that Georgia should have been invited to the Rose Bowl to play Southern Cal. That would have been an interesting matchup.

They said that the Bulldogs and Trojans might be the best two teams in the country, rather than LSU and Ohio State.

Georgia to me anyway proved again what I along with others were saying..........Georgia is playing as good and better than any team in the country "right now". They lost to U.T. and S. Car. early, got things rolling and never looked back. Georgia dominated pretty much everyone down the stretch like they did Hawai last night. Won their last 7 games fairly easy.

With the two losses they had they were not going to the BCS title game although I will say that imo LSU was/is pretty dang lucky that they are not playing them now or that they played U.T. instead of UGA in the SEC title game.

This UGA team imo should be ranked in th top 3 preseason next season, posasibly #1.

Hawaii was just outmanned and outclassed in every facet of the game, there is no other way to say it. I don't believe that a good reading/evaluation of Brennan could be drawn from this one bc he had "0" protection! Georgia was droping 6 and most of the tme 7 men back in coversge, only rushing 3 and 4 people. They still got 7 or 8 sacks. The Bulldog defense was just dominant and Hawaii showed absolutely NO resistance on thier pass rush. With the Bulldogs only rushing 3 and 4, Hawaii was still outmanned.

I beleive that the play on the 1st UGA touchdown really set the tone of the entire game. Hawaii had 10 men in the box and still didn't come close to stopping them. UGA ran the ball and still went untouched into th endzone.

A poster above said it best I believe when they said that it could have been more. This game wasn't as close as the score indicated :D. Mark Richt imo could have had the score 80 (or higher) to 3 if he would have wanted to.

:thumb: I heard that and really could not argue that. With the way the set up right now the two teams that are in the BCS title game are the ones that deserve to be in it with all of the losses and upsets of teams this season.

I am not in favor of a, lets say "8 team playoff" but.........I do believe that they could (and will) add one more game "a plus one format" and have much better system. That imo would set up a "semni final" game so to speak and with the two winners going to thew "plus one" NC game.

I will say that imo right now that Georgia is the best football team in the country. That very well may change after I see LSU and Ohio State play on Monday night.

I say, knock the regular season back down to 11 games with no conference championships and then put together a tournament similar to DIII:

I can understand what you mean:thumb: but imo that will never happen.

Facts are that the Univ. presidents. A.D.'s, Coorporate Bowl sponsors, Bowl commities and the like have way too much $$$ invested in it and more importantly to them are making too much $$$$$ from it the way it is. A "plus one" game/format is all we can hope for I believe.

Money talks and we all know what walks..............:D.

So I am just hoping for a "plus one" to give us a semi final and final and I am fine with that. JMO

I know it will never happen, but it sure would be awesome to have another "March Madness". I kind of like the idea of taking the BCS winners and playing a "mini" tourney with them to select a national champion. That would be a cool idea.

The same people on Mike and Mike said yesterday that if the NCAA ever did decide to go to a playoff system that ratings would be off the charts, and the college playoffs would own the month of December, surpassing even the NFL. The guy filling in for Golic (can't think of his name) is the one who said this.
