Things must have really broken down between WVU and Rich Rod over the last 24 hours. He was clearly not happy with promises not being lived up to from the administration while a lot of money was pumped in to the hoops program since Huggs was hired. Welcome aboard Coach...

I just saw this run across the bottom of the screen on the NFL game.

Looks like the school up North has traded in the "old Carr" for a "Hot Rod".

Not a good hire in my opinion.

How long will it take to get a QB to fit his system. Personnel wise this hire is the opposite end of the spectrum from what Michigan has and what Rodriguez does.

Wonder how the Michigan faithful are taking this?

 

Mallett was a spread QB in HS. Rod will just focus more on the passing game like he did before Pat White landed on campus...

I'm an OSU fan but I think this is a good hire. Rod will get the players he wants and in a few seasons the Wolverines will be really tough to beat.

If he can bring a up tempo offense to a slow legged Big Ten it wont be long until tOSU is singing the blues.

I think he looks at the combination of the UM prestige and resources with his style of offense and sees a great opportunity to take over a conference that is big in name but not deep in talent.

 

Exactly...if he gets the speed to UM that he has at WVU (which seems likely)...he'll be able to put points up all over the Big 11.

That would be one of the dumbest statements I have heard. Morgantown is a hole in the wall. The facilities are horrible, I am quite sure his call in shows were filled with intelligent questions. He now goes to the most prestigious job in the nation. WVU fans: it is Maize! not Gold.

For those of you that think Rodriguez was a bad hire....you are likely a Buckeye fan, and now should be worried as the track meets between Illinois and Michigan are going to make the whol conference have to start SPEEDING up.

I know we now have a certain HS QB that just put us on his list. Buckeye fans seem to think he is a lock for them but this just changed things. He is also T Clemmons cousin who is already a Wolverine.

If he runs that same O I saw against UC live Buckeye fans will like it a lot.... RB's who don't wanna run north and south and a passing game that doesn't involve a down field pass.

 

I think he will bring some athletes in on offense but I am not sure about his defensive pitch.
