December 23, 200718 yr So you want a government that takes money from the rich and gives to the poor? yes???
December 23, 200718 yr I think that Jesus would like to see the churches and believers give all they can to the poor. I just don't think he would like for the government to handle this by taxing and redistributing wealth. There is a huge difference between giving and being taxed. JMO. Jesus was okay with taxes . . . "Render unto Ceasar what is Ceasar's"

December 23, 200718 yr When Jesus returns,He is going to be too busy kicking the moneychangers out of the synagogues to worry about voting for anybody!!! Republican OR democrat!
December 23, 200718 yr When Jesus returns, he comes as Judge not as Savior. He definitely won't be the Mr. Rodgers that so many inaccurately portray him today.

I think that's both a grand stand statement and a miscarriage of what is said by some. Please note from Revelation that when he returns he comes as the lion of Judah. And when John saw him he was a wounded lamb. The scars stay forever.

But do you agree that when he comes back, it is bad news for those that don't TRULY believe rather than the Good News that he brought the first time?
December 24, 200718 yr So you want a government that takes money from the rich and gives to the poor? So you want a government that doesn't help the poor? You think that is what Jesus would want of us?

Yes, but I didn't see the others arguing that aspect. They were saying the message of Grace is the message of the day. This day. Today.
December 24, 200718 yr So you want a government that doesn't help the poor? You think that is what Jesus would want of us? Absolutely not and I am assuming that no conservative believes that (it is actually quite ridiculous to think that some would...). But if we live as Jesus intended, government help should be minimal as personal charity would be a priority. And if the government is taking a lot of money from individual citizens, then how much can they give?

If individuals give money to charities they reduce their tax burden - in our present system - so if you don't want to pay taxes, give more money away:dancingpa

What is this notion then about a return, if he never left?

But if we live as Jesus intended, government help should be minimal as personal charity would be a priority. And if the government is taking a lot of money from individual citizens, then how much can they give? Actually, it is not only not ridiculous - it's pretty well grounded. I have heard a lot of different people say that don't agree with well fare. I heard a politican, I want to say that it was Pat Buchanan but that could be very wrong, say once that he agreed with John Smith's (and Hitler's) "You work, we take care of your policy." When asked, "What about the physically and mentally handicap?" He replied, "We can find jobs for them to? Or atleast we hope their family will take care of them." While people that cold hearted are far in the minority, they are not an endangered species by any stretch.

What is this notion then about a return, if he never left? A contradiction in the Bible? Never!!!!! I'm sure we're about to hear that he "is here in our heart" because Jesus can not only be at two places at once, defying the laws of gravity and nature, but he can be everywhere at once which defys the laws of human thought and rationale.

Where do you stand on the Big Bang, Quantum Mechanics, Relativity and String Theory? How do you feel about Love? Does it exist?
