Not meaning any offense to anyone but maybe this year would have been a good year for a lineman or defensive player to be on the list. (Don't have any suggestions.)

Cole from Somerset will probably win. I think he had the most hype coming into the season and then put together a good year. Corey Robinson should get a good look, too. It's difficult to get too excited about any of them IMO but if they are the best in Kentucky, then more power to them.

Sorry, Pep ... Will Stein of Trinity is not on the final ballot.

Although I am a Stein supporter, I think his 3rd Team All-State selection may harm his chances of Mr. Football. I thoroughly enjoyed his play at the Class AAAAAA championships..

 

I wish I made the opportunity to see Corey Robinson play... I do not know, is he another Tim Couch? If so, he has my vote. (Actually, I do not vote.) I am not totally sold on the idea that stats gets you the Mr Football recognition. If he played AAAAAA ball in Louisville and had the same stats, I would be of a different opinion.

 

Corey Farris of Boone would be my choice if I only had the three to chose from. Corey is a solid young man that is talented in Football, Baseball and probalby yachting if he had a boat!

 

If Deuce Finch had an injury free year... I think he would be the top dog in the state. Unfortunately, that did not happen for the gifted running back.

 

I will try this again... for all who have seen Corey Robinson play, is he as good as Tim Couch was during his HS carreer? I saw Tim Couch play several times his senior year... he was the real deal and there were no questions regarding his MR Football status. Is Corey in the same company? Where is he planning to play at the next level?

It is my understanding that the AP takes nominations for Mr. Football, and the list is furnished to the voters.

Will did not start at QB the first two, but I do believe he did start at another postion those years. I think one of the more "in" T posters can verify or correct me on that.

On the KHSAA website, Stein was listed as a backup receiver on the 2006 team. He did play some QB that year and wasn't one of the team's top three receivers, in terms of the number of catches.

I believe that he wouldn't make it as Mr. Football 2005, and Mr Football 2006.

But I believe we are talking about Mr Football 2007 and if he is not on the ballot, then he should of been. Since allegedly he is not on the ballot, we should probably discuss who is on the ballot. I think Robinson's numbers are off the charts, regardless of his D1 potential, regardless of his strength of schedule. Most TD's in season alltime is pretty impressive and should be rewarded. Personally Stein would be second for his accomplishments and third I would place John Cole from Somerset. Sorry I am anti RB but I think those three were above the rest at their position. If Stein is not on the ballot, then I would opt for Alex Mathews who lifted Shelby County. I think Cecil from Highlands and Zoeller from St X made their teams better.
