Jasper re hurts knee

Devastating news.

Being a glass half full type of guy, good news is Jasper and Meeks redshirts and you have a heck of a senior class in 3 years of Jasper, Meeks, Patterson.

That is the way I see it as well. A Senior class of the 3 above would be huge! Gillespie has a good start with these 3 to build the program around. We still need to land a couple of big men that can walk and chew gum at the same time though!

Seriously?

Seriously?

Mom was quoted in the paper this week that he is definitely staying 4 years. Are you saying mom is lying?

Sharp pains" abruptly ended Derrick Jasper's participation in Kentucky's practice yesterday. The development cast new doubt on the sophomore guard's return this season from microfracture knee surgery, a procedure that can cause athletes to be sidelined a full year or more.

Gillispie noted the difference Jasper can make offensively and defensively. At 6-foot-6, Jasper can pass over defenders more easily than many guards. He's also inclined to make the pass, as his 100 assists as a freshman suggested.

"I think he'll be the best passer we have," Gillispie said. "He's a guy who can put more pressure on a defense with the dribble. He's a good offensive rebounder because of his size and athletic ability.

"He can be a shut-down defender and a great defensive rebounder. I wouldn't doubt he'd be our second-best rebounder."

The microfracture surgery is a delicate surgery. I had something similar to it in May. It just depends on the individual how fast they come back. I would love to have him out there, but, if it is not completely healed, Redshirt.

I don't care who was quoted where, in 3 years when I see PP in the starting line up for UK then I will believe it.

Mom WANTS him to stay 3 years, but $$$$$$$$ + MORE $$$$$$$$$ will take him away before he's here 4 years, IMO.

Saw Jasper this morning at UK Sports Med. He was limping petty bad. My son had the Micro-fracture surgery last Dec. The Dr today told us that only about 60% of this type of surgery will take. My sons did not. Facing Major surgery now. On Jasper, guess we will have to wait and see.

Can we just forfeit the rest of the season before it gets any uglier? It seems like every week it's more bad news. From this point on I think we just have to shake our heads and smile to keep our insanity.

What is micro-fracture surgery????What do they do for it???

High quality Freudian slip...

Oh My....the UK Medical Staff, has been very busy with this team. Hope he can recover and return full strength, whenever that is.

At least the medical teams are getting some quality training time on rarely seen injuries. Whatever happened to twisted ankles and sore wrists?

Seems like we get everything from Micro-Fractures to Groin Stress Fractures:scared:.

I guess we should keep an eye out for an Ebola or Flesh Eating Staph epidemic on this years' team!:D

Honestly, what happens next?

In my sons case he had torn his mecius. They had to trim part of it away. Then they drilled holes in the bone hoping to cause scar tissue to form to fill in the gaps. This is the Micro-fracture surgery. After seeing Jasper today...I don't look for him to come back anytime soon.

You know that the "BGP nation" will be hoping for his complete recovery.

As for Jasper; I'm in the "let's let it heal completely this season" camp.
