December 13, 200718 yr While I'm not saying Clemens did not use steroids. I'm always skeptical when I hear that a 'former' anything admits wrongdoing...
December 13, 200718 yr With all the information available today and the toll performance enhancements, takes on a Pitchers arm/rotator cuff, I would be very surprised to have confirmation of Clemens, using enhancements. I'll stand in support of Clemens, until something is proven. There will be many names, that will have to "prove" themselves and thus why I said in the other thread, I hope the released information is accurate and can be substantiated.
December 13, 200718 yr Clemens like a fine wine has gotten better and better with age. Unlike wine I think he had help in the form of the BIG S.

I have always been told that steroids do increase the chance of injuries such as ligament damage but not rotator cuff tears. It does on the other hand greatly improve a pitchers performance by allowing the body to recover and eliminate the "dead arm" syndrome at the end of the year. It appears many more pitchers were taking steroids than once thought. This will be a sad day for the greatest game ever invented. On a personal note today will only solidify Greg Maddux as a top 5 pitcher of all- time. I am quite sure he will not be on the list and to do what he did in this time frame is simply amazing. At least we still have players like him.

Thus many, throw sooner, more or for longer periods because the "arm feels better" and by doing so, will ultimately result in wear/tear, until it gives out.

December 13, 200718 yr Thanks for passing that on.....:thumb: It's all about quicker recovery and less down time. A Pitchers arm, needs "iced" to help reduce swelling and the tiny blood vessels, which have ruptured and most, if not all do. Where the problem lies, is getting back to throwing/recovery too soon. There is no replacement, for rest in the recovery process but some, have chosen this option, to help with knees, backs and lower body conditioning. I would suspect, if you polled most MLB Pitchers, who have taken enhancements and could find an honest answer....the reason would be for to recover their legs and help the back, more so than added strength, unlike hitters would say.
December 13, 200718 yr Quote from yahoo.... "If McNamee is wrong and Mitchell ran with it anyway, then Clemens can sue the former Congressional leader, Major League Baseball and his drug-dealing former trainer for about a billion dollars. "
December 13, 200718 yr I don't see Mitchell running with it unless he had substantial evidence against Clemens.
December 13, 200718 yr I don't see Mitchell running with it unless he had substantial evidence against Clemens. He does...has records shown of transactions made with a trainer.
December 13, 200718 yr Now lets see if he is going to get the same treatment that Bonds has got... He won't because he's not a horse's rear end like Bonds is. IMO, they're on the same level as players. People who "cheated" to gain an advantage. However, they're not even close on the "good guy" meter...
