Mason County's Setty

Featured Replies

No knock on the kid at all, he is a very solid player and can shoot the lights out. I do think it might be a bit of a reach to say this kid could compete in the Big East w/West Virginia.

He will have to put on some weight and get stronger if he wants to play Major D-1. But he definately has the skills. Last time a shooter from Mason County was over looked, every team in America realized they made a mistake...

I'm not saying he will be anything close to as good as Chris, but he is a very good player with tons of potential.

T Setty is a good player, but I think NKU, MSU, EKU are a better fit than WVU.

He reminds of the likes of a former Mountaineer in Kevin Pittsnogle. Although he is not a bulky.

He also is not close to being a 7 footer like Pittsnogle.

I can't give you anything about this comparison.

Sounds like we are talking about lofton 5 years ago and we all know how that turned out.

Setty to Northern would be as embarassing as Middleton to Georgetown. They both deserve bigger looks. These kids need to know that there are schools outside the state of Kentucky, some are actually good schools.

Setty is good, very good. He could play a huge roll on a good team coming off the bench and hitting a couple 3's, He could play a starting roll for a good team. Imo I believe he can develop a tremendous amount by getting stronger and developing his alll around game. He may not have all the muscle now but if he turns out anything like his dad you better watch out............

This may be a little of topic but back to the lofton situation i belive kentucky missed another one in Preston knowles i see him putting up some big numbers at L-Ville Imo

As I said in my first post, this is strictly rumor, although I have heard it from more than one person. I think Trevor is like alot of the players that have been at WVU. The Belein (Sp) kid and some of the bunch he played with. Trevor is a spot up shooter who plays hard the entire game. WVU has had many of these players the past few years, and I think Trevor will be alot better once he puts on some weight.

It was kind of funny listening to Trevor on the radio post-game show after last Friday's game. He basically said that he had hit the weights, but it was hard to tell just by looking because he had grown so much taller!

A college program will put another 15 or 20 pounds on someone like Trevor in a heartbeat.

And I'm not concerned whether he ends up at UL or WVU; Georgetown or NKU, or somewhere in between. He needs to go where he feels comfortable and fits in well. Some people like to be a big fish in a little pond; others the reverse. The time in college is too precious to waste trying to live up to someone else's expectations.

Just $.02 from a fan.

This statement is key. Many times people get caught up in that the school has to be a big name school. The 10th region has been blessed with some talented athletics that have/are doing well. Wes Burtner is the all time leading scorer at Belmount University. K. Belcher is playing there now and is doing great. Montgomery Co had a player go there...his name escapes me right now...and he did great too. We have Bo Harris that is at Pikeville and made all American in that division last year. MI Mi Bell went to Eastern in football and has been a starter for the Miami Dolphins for the last few years. Lofton a perfect fit for Tennessee. Preston fits in great at Louisville.

I wish Treaver all the best and want him to find the school that fits him the best and get his education.:thumb:

How can you make such a statement:irked:,Its not all about going to a top 10 D-1 school,Its about getting yourself a free education(which he will) and still being able to play the sport you love at another level.Does all the kids from your school go top10 D-1?:sssh:

Furthermore it's not even about going D-1 at all. It's where the kid feels comfortable basketball wise and education wise. Middleton will get a great education at G-town while having fun playing ball (and it's not too bad that he got it paid for.) If Setty wants to go D-1 thats his choice, however if he wants to go to a smaller school then that is his choice not ours!

Well I think it would be great to see him go somewhere like WVU. I wish him all the best!
