Mason County's Setty

Featured Replies

I like what I saw from Setty. No offense though, but I dont' see Bob Huggins going after Setty. He might look at him, but offer a scholarship is another story. Bob is a major recruiter and brings in the top players in the country. If he wasn't after Chris Lofton then why would he be after Setty??

He did go after Lofton, I heard Chris signed right before Bobby was gonna offer..

Go where you can play and be happy.!!!!! I think Middleton made a great choice. I know a 6'7" guard from Portsmouth that was a super player in high school and now is at WVU and isn't getting any playing time. Big decision .Sometimes you just don't know what's good for you until you've been there.Hey, I've been there and done that!!!!!!!!!!!

What does it matter where he goes to College. As long as he gets the best education he can and that also being a FREE education, as long as the School is a good fit for what he wants to do later in life then size dose't matter. could he play at a D-1 school probably, but what ever him and his family feel is the best fit for him Basketball wise and education wise it really dosen't matter to any of us. Remember most all of the College athletes will go Pro in something other then the sport for which they went to school to play. Best of luck to T. Setty and his family no matter where he decides to play college ball.I am sure he will have a very bright future.

Me personally, I think that Setty shoots the ball to much. When you have the 35th best player in the nation you should give the ball up a little. I saw him play against Cov. Cath and he shot the ball way to much. I will admit though he is a solid player and should get a better offer then NKU. (nothing against NKU)

So Darius should shoot the ball more than what he already does? Darius almost averages 30 points how many more does he need? One of the good things about T Setty is his passing ability. I dont get your logic.

Makes a lot of difference. A quality education is great but if you're on a basketball scholarship ,you want playing time. Nobody likes to ride the bench. I would rather play for Morehead or Eastern than sit on the bench at UK or would rather play for Georgetown or Union than sit on the bench for Morehead or Eastern. Some people don't think this way but that's the way I feel. By the way , go ahead and shoot the ball.:argue:

He also is not close to being a 7 footer like Pittsnogle.

I said simular type game... not the same stature wise, read the whole post..;)

Don't think Darius would agree. He is a very unselfish player, and would rather win a state championship as to scoring 40 points a game. That is what makes Darius that much of a better player... he passes and take the shots that are open to him and when he doesn't have a good look he passes to a teammate that he trust can knock down the open jumper. But, when he needs to score and take over a game, he will...

He reminds of the likes of a former Mountaineer in Kevin Pittsnogle. Although he is not a bulky, but they have the same type of game. I think he would be a good fit at WV and Bobby's style of play.

Wasn't Pittsnagle a 7' 1" , about 280 lb. center???????? Interesting comparison--Setty is what about 6' 4" and 185 soaking wet???? Nothing against Trevor--nice player, but where did this one come from??

Unless he improves and gets much bigger, no way he's a Big East player??

Setty is a legit 6'7" and still growing according to doctors. Does he need to improve? Yes, but what high school player does not in some facet or another. He is a quality and complimentary player to Darius and believe me he will get better as the year goes longer. The schedule Mason County plays will only improve Setty and Middleton over the course of the year.

Im not sure what they list Trevor at, but it looks like he is just a little bit shorter than Darius. The good part is he will play college basketball, and get a good education. Just good to know that he will play at some level, wherever that may be. Keep up the good work Trevor.

Trevor is taller than Darius, just much thinner. I agree, if you can go on to the next level , doing what you love to do and get your education paid for, where can you go wrong. Is Mr. Setty D-1, let the year play out and options could open up for a quality young man. I know I am comparing apples to oranges, but does Preston Knowles ring a bell.

Really wow!! I always thought it looked like Darius had a little height on Trevor. Oh well though they are both taller than me and will both play college basketball.

Yes I agree most people want playing time but hey look at it this way. WOW i sat the bench for 4 straight years and worked my but off in practice everyday, but you know what I still got a FREE education and now im ready for the real world. not to say i made friends that will last a lifetime and i had fun doing it College is suppose to be fun.

Or i am a four year starer at the School of my choice i worked my but off at practice everyday and i put up alot of numbers in some big games, But you know what i still got a FREE education and now im ready for the real world. Not to say i still had fun and made friends that will last a lifetime.

So you see NO matter what senerio you choose you still get a FREE education, to prepare you for life isnt that what College is for or not??????
