December 9, 200718 yr Before watching todays game I believed Tubby should find new employment, but after watching the game, Tubby left the UK Basketball program in Shambles. Not one of Tubby's recuits contributed anything to the game today. Patterson was the best UK player on the floor and he belongs to Billy G. Tubby wanted to recuit Defense and it showed as we do not have one legit scoring threat on the floor. If I am Billy G, I would not bring back Meeks and Jasper and blow a year of eligiblity on this team. This automatically makes UK better in the future. Remember, this is one of the major reasons OTS did not want a certain Tennessee guard because ots did not belive in recuiting offensive players, especially shooters. Don't get the wrong idea, this is not a Lofton gripe, just very mad where OTS left my UK team. :mad::mad::mad:
December 9, 200718 yr Oh please. Pulling the Lofton card is the weakest argument ever. How about this team with Jai Lucas and Patterson. I think a true PG does wonders for this team. We would still have obvious trouble inside.

Exactly what I was going to post.:thumb: Defense and rebounding is greatly improved with Jasper on the floor, meaning Porter is not on the floor. You are easily missing 15 ppg in Meeks and possibly their best defensive perimeter player. So, unless you are going to blame their injuries on Tubby, the title of this thread is inaccurate.

You can blame Tubby for recruiting brick layers. Meeks would give us a shooter, and Legion if he came back. Until we get some shooters though, we're going to be in big time trouble.

The one guy that BCG brought in (Patterson, with Legion gone for now) is carrying his load, Meeks is as good as advertised from Tubby's tenure, and the rest would have never been looked at by a Pitino, Williams or most other major program coaches, IMO. We have what would be role or minutes players as starters now. We've had problems every since we were starting Stockton! People we would never have looked at, much less signed, when we were for real are STARTERS now. This is going to take a Major rebuild to even resemble our old talent levels.

You can look at it however you want but this UK team should have Rondo at point, Meeks at guard, Jasper at forward, Patterson at PF and Morris at C. With Crawford and the others off the bench. That is the team Tubby recruited.

Patterson and Morris would have commanded double and triple teams and left wide open shots for the guards. Crawford came with a reputation as a scorer. What UK found out was that he has no work ethic or heart. Wasn't Porter supposed to be a shooter out of HS?

UK CALIBER PLAYERS???? Is that McD AA's only? Do you live in an alternate reality where you think UK lineups are always filled with top players in the country? Was Epps a supposed UK caliber player? Chuck Hayes? Cameron Mills? Eric Daniels?
