December 13, 200718 yr And in the last 3 years he brought very average recruits to UK... His recruiting his last 3 years was his downfall. Maybe he meant to do that to pay back all of the hate the UK fans gave him. I know that's prob. not the truth, but I wouldn't blame the man if he did do that.

I would sign a BUNCH of 5' 6" - 5' 8" kids one year, find a reason to chase off the real talent, and then leave if I was doing that. :lol: If you were being sarcastic or not, most coaches that would want to work again would never do that intentionally, because of how it would look to future employers that may tick him off somehow. The last few years of recruiting was the downfall, but it was due to missing the big targets, lazy assistants (That had to be defended, but not ONE taken to the new job:confused:), and settling for what was left when our only target recruit was gone. After thinking about this thread for a week, the end result was that the talent here now, and the talent Tubby had his last season, came from settling for what we could get instead of the Over-The-Top recruiting the other programs were doing to get the prospects that were needed. This talent was good enough to win games last year, but not the truly big ones, and the talent left is not that good. Most of this comes from the assistants, but as they were his assistants and he was the figurehead of the program, that is where the ultimate blame will fall in most eyes. It all rolls downhill until the real problem breaks, and fingers go straight to the CEO. Like it or not, NCAA basketball is a business, first and foremost. Have to keep the customers satisfied, or someone will become the scapegoat.
