A few thoughts and comments:

 

1. Mason County is a very, very good team, Darius is for real and so is #24. I'd be surprised if they did not win state

2. If CovCath can make free throws and not make really, really obvious turnovers, the game never gets to a 25 point deficit.

3. I'm sorry, the Fieldhouse is nice, but with the hype it is given, I didn't think it was that special. Ryle's gym in Union is just a big and just a nice. Am I missing something?

3. Luke Maile was the only CovCath player not afraid of Darius

Oh yeah, D's little sister also got in my pocket as well raising money for a smartboard. Can't say no to cute little girls.

Like a digital chalkboard that you project onto a real chalkboard and can write on or type on and save to your computer. I haven't seen one that much so that's the best I can do.

Ryle's gym is much newer, but I think "nicer" is a subjective comment? Capacity of Ryle is 3000, while the Fieldhouse is "listed" at 5400, but has routinely seen a lot more come 10th region tourney time.

I've not watched Scotty Hopson play so I can't speak to his abilities. However, I can't imagine that he's actually better than Darius Miller. He had 24/12/5 without much effort last night. Unlike many big scorers, he didn't force anything. He took what was there. IF he wanted to, he could have gotten to the rim everytime but I'd imagine the coach isn't interested in having the other 4 be spectators especially when you've got the other weapons they have.

 

Oh yeah, D's little sister also got in my pocket as well raising money for a smartboard. Can't say no to cute little girls.

 

Athletically they may be close, but basketball-wise, attitude-wise they're in different leagues!! Darius makes everyone around him better and seems to actually enjoy playing defense; while Hopson's idea of "D" is to try for a spectacular block and then turn & run down for a breakaway.

I still see quite a bit of standing around by the supporting cast in the half court.

But, who needs a half court offense when you got a beast of a full court press?

Seemed like everytime Miller and King trapped a CC player it was two the other way.

And did anyone see the kid from CC that wore the Mutumbo, Nuggets throwback? He resembled McLovin from Superbad!

 

 

I did see him as he was high steeping out of the gym!

Yeah i'm a member of mason countys cheering section, and if we're thinking about the same guy; he had a yellow hat on? My hat goes off to the covcath students fun to watch even for me i personally enjoyed the comeback they had with the "We're Gay" version of Olay.

What you were missing about the Fieldhouse was its History. I could not begin to tell you about all the great teams, players and great games that this high school palace has hosted. But on the Mason Co. side four names come to mind Ronny Lyons, Deron Feldhaus, Chris Lofton and now Darius Miller. Not a bad start huh!

:laugh::laugh::laugh: I was rolling laughing when I read that. People have been telling him that since the movie came out and he always denies it. Now that someone who's never met him said that its undeniable.

This was my first time to the Fieldhouse and it did not disapoint me. I told Jason that it reminded me of the gym at Butler University that they used in the movie Hoosier and he agreed. We both loved it....

As the Crazies came into the Fieldhouse I took the oppunity to remind them that the fans of MC were hoping that the Crazies would put on a good show, and in fact told them that they had as much pressure on them tonight as did the team... The Crazies did themeselves proud and I got a huge kick out of watching the MC students and fans watching the Crazies do their thing. You could see the students, just standing there with there mouths open trying to think of things to say and or do, but they just couldn't keep up with the Crazies...

 

On the question about a cheering class at CovCath, well no they don't have a class, but at CovCath at least, the Freshmen aren't really Freshmen, they are just Seniors in training.....

 

Darius is indeed the real deal, and I was really impressed with him. He will do very well at the next level and I haven't seen a young man with as many skills as he has, and he seems to be a good kid too.... Enjoyed watching him play as well as your entire team and if LexCath was #2 in the State, then Mason County is far ahead of them at #1.

 

Suggestion to MC fans, if you want your kids to cheer, then tone down the band. Seems at least to me, that the band didn't give your kids a chance to cheer. Maybe the band and their parents love the band, but if you want your kids to cheer like the Crazies, then tone the band down some or at least get them all on the same page.

 

Hopefully the MC kids and fans attend the game at CovCath next year (if indeed there is another game). At CovCath, the Crazies are truely a sixth man....

 

Again thanks to the Wendy's up the street from the Fieldhouse and Alma Cornish for the free dinner, it was greatly appreicated.....Also a tip of the cap to all the MC fans for being so nice.... It was indeed a great night of basketball and I had a ball......Good luck MC.......

I don't think so. I'm pretty sure Ryle is in the 2500 capacity range while the MC Fieldhouse is probably closer to twice that.

You guys got set up on that one. They knew if they threw out the "girls can't cheer" at you that you, like every other school over the last 30 years, would come back with something questioning their sexuality.
