What are the strengths and weaknesses of each team? The CKY Warriors have no business playing D1. They will get beat by 20+ by all of these teams. They wouldn't be in the top 4 in D2. If the Ville have the kid from Clinton County, they will win D1.

If the Ville have the kid from Clinton County, they will win D1. How have the NKY Hornets been playing? I know they have Beu Hoge and the McDonald kid(5'11?). Urlage and Jackson Hall are also good shooters, I wouldnt count them out just yet. However, I am hearing some great things about the kid from Clinton Co.

I think they have played the Ville already this year and lost by double digits. By the way, McDonald is maybe 5'7" or 5'8".
March 4, 200818 yr Author I really think the Wolfpack could win DI, but I understand to a point after last season. The wolfpack got the Ville(D II??) early in bracket play and I really think that they had the 2nd best team there, this coming from the guy who probably did (2nd best)if the wolfpack wasn't. I think if the Wolfpack wins it this year they will move up to DI next year. The Wolfpack is really the only team in Kentucky with lots of size in the 11/u age group, DI or DII. They would be a serious threat to be DI state champs, but I do understand. Seems to me you would want to play at the most competitive level if you have a team that can compete? I don't understand why you would want to play D2 if you are competitive at the D1 level? Is it just to win a championship?

No offense, UserName, but winning a championship at any level is easier said than done. I've seen teams who have competed with D1 teams and even beaten D1 runner up teams in non-state tournaments, not even get close to winning D2 state. So knowing your team and it's ability is more important than someone thinking you should play D1 or D2.

I hear what you are saying, however don't you agree if a team is capable of competing with D1 teams, they should play D1? Seems to me alot of people are saying the Wolfpack team is capable of winning D1 state. If I was a wolfpack member, I would take this as a compliment and would want to play at the high level (as long as I felt my team can compete). Each team needs to do what is best for their team. Personally, I would rather lose playing against better competition (Again stressing being competitive) than beat teams by 30 every game.

I am not sure if they won or lost, however I do remember they were playing a Mason County team. Anyone else there that could add insight?
March 4, 200818 yr No offense, UserName, but winning a championship at any level is easier said than done. I've seen teams who have competed with D1 teams and even beaten D1 runner up teams in non-state tournaments, not even get close to winning D2 state. So knowing your team and it's ability is more important than someone thinking you should play D1 or D2. Personally, I would rather compete at D1 then play D2. And, please don't anybody take this as a knock to teams that are playing D2 because I know each team / coach has his or her own personal preference. When the Georgetown Thunder was 11 (I am still trying to forget the experience and wipe it from my memory) we played D2 and had the worst weekend we have ever had, losing to a couple of teams that had no business beating us (sorry, qryche11, I believe you were involved with one of the teams). We entered the tournament on like a 20 game win streak, having won 4-5 tournaments in a row -- some beating teams that played D1. In fact, we had played the D1 champion that year -- Louisville Suns -- twice and lost by 3 and 4 points and were in both games to the end. We did D2 because we wanted to stay in Lexington and play in the nationals. But, now they allow teams (in fact, the Louisville Suns won the state and ended up playing D2 nationals, which I was originally told was not allowed -- but that's another story). I guess what I am saying is we decided we would rather play against the best than worry about the end result. In fact, we finished 2nd nationally in D2 in 10U then went 4-3 last year in the D1 nationals and I honestly felt better about our accomplishment last year than I did in 10U. The only thing I have from 10U is a big silver trophy that I still display today. But, from last year, I have the satisfaction of knowing I put my kids up against the best.
