February 4, 200818 yr Look for one tournament if only 2-3 teams go D1. Never forget who owns part of the KBA and the KBA holds the AAU state tournaments. There may actually be AAU ruleson this, based on the number of teams participating... seems like I was told that last season. Tennessee has the D1 and then has the DII with all of the teams who didn't qualify to go to the nationals D1 elegible to play in the DII. Looks like that might work and at the same time help everyone. Actually he doesn't own any of the KBA any longer. His portion had to be bought out and that was why there was talk of the KBA being sold at the end of 2007. Also, each district can determine seperation of tournaments after the U8 level. IMO, it comes down to the cost and reducing expenses. Which is why they got rid of the 3rd place game. They have had seperate tournaments in other divisions when there were only 3 teams D1.
February 4, 200818 yr While I will be told that I am wrong. I believe all the Wolfpack teams are D2 teams. Most of the teams take players from 2 or 3 schools in NKY. However, in order to be prepared for D2, our coaches believe the Wolfpack teams have to play D1 teams and strong D2 teams. I am still not convinced that there are going to be seperate tournaments. If there are seperate tourneys, I'm not convinced that the Legends will go D1. I believe the U12 Wolfpack will play in the National D2 tournament in Lexington this year. Well, I dont know the personell of your team or others except for the 13U Wolfpack team and I personally think they should be playing D-1. If you have kids from 4 different counties playing for you then you have crossed the community line not just once but 3 times. Not to mention taking players from the two of the final four teams (Nets/Kings) in D2 last year and adding a couple other studs (McClendon) probably increases your ability to win at the D-1 level. That is just my opinion. If they go D-2 then they should win the whole thing because I just dont know of any other teams that can potentially win in that scenario. The Wolfpack are a team we want to play to get better for the D-2 State tourney.
February 5, 200818 yr NKY Wildcats U9 team went to the Fieldhouse in Indy this weekend. I would recommend going if you get the chance. The facility is first rate and the competition is outstanding. The play in very physical so be ready to lace them up tight and go at it. We seen some outstanding teams at every age division. I know I seen at least two u13 teams with multiple players dunking in the game.

February 5, 200818 yr They went 1-2. Beat a team by 20+ then lost to the owner of The Fieldhouse's team ,The Fieldhouse Hawgs by 1 after leading by 13. Then lose in bracket play to the Indy Ice by 1 in overtime. The Indy Ice game was the most physical game I have ever seen at any level. We couldn't believe the refs let the Ice get away with so much stuff. One of the Ice's parents ran onto to the floor and confronted the refs after the Wildcats where up by double digits. After that it was WWE wrestling going on. The game was officatied so poorly the owner of The Fieldhouse invited the team back up any time, free of charge.

February 5, 200818 yr Does SOAS have an 8U AAU league? No, they play rec ball. SOAS starts with U9 and this past session only had three U9 teams.

February 5, 200818 yr The Omega All-Stars 10u are playing at Mid-America this weekend..I believe their first game is with the defending State Champs the Focus.. Is anyone else playing there this weekend????
