Here's a coach that's not afraid to say what he really thinks about the current alignment. It's Meade County Coach, Larry Mofield, following their loss to Louisville St. Xavier. Speaking to a reporter from The News-Enterprise, he said:

 

“They’re a good football team and they’ll probably win the state championship against Trinity next week. I don’t know, but I think that’s what the KHSAA wants, is they want those two guys to play each other and they’re going to get what they want and they’re going to make a lot of money off of it.

Last year X, T, Male and Manual were all on the same side of the bracket. X and T will be again next year.

Those comments are unfortunate. It tells his players they never really had a chance. The KHSAA was against them. Its all about money.

 

Congrats to the Meade Co. boys on a fine season.

Regardless of what side X and T were on, Meade wasn't the best team in 6A period, end of story. To, basically, complain about being beat in the state semi's instead of the state finals is weak, IMO.

 

Bottom line, until you beat them...don't complain about alignment because it didn't matter. I'm sure he would've been real happy having to beat X and T in the playoffs...

They DIDN'T have a chance. Anyone who foresaw a final that wasn't Trinity vs. St. X should either watch more football or know when to say when.

Was it all about money last year when Ryle drilled Meade by an even bigger margin? Does losing to a public school make it a less bitter to take? Meade needs to raise their level of play if they want to win a big school state title.

Well I just don't like the new revolving playoff system at all. There is no such thing as a true regional champ anymore because it changes every year. IMO teams that are not good enough to be a state champ in their given class, but are good enough to have constant teams you are competing against and win a regional title against would be nice.

...And we all know that wasn't going to happen.....that said, since this game has been over the Meade supporters are crying all over the place. Thankfully the kids just went out and played their hearts out, regardless of whether or not their supporters believed in their ability to win.
