Just an interesting tidbit. Because Iraq is nine hours ahead of Fort Campbell (central time), the soliders had to get up at 4am to listen to the game through an internet stream provided by WHVO Radio in Hopkinsville. With Saturday's game starting at 10:30am FC time, they will actually get to listen to a game with a 7:30pm kickoff because of the time difference.

Has anyone buried NCC by half. Even with all the funky play it has not happened. Nobody is going to rack up enough points on this defense before the offense decides to get untracked. Im sure Fort Campbell is loaded, but NCC can be very dangerous if both sides are playing to their capabilities. I believe last years State Finals proved NCC can come from way out of it. Fort Campbell will win region if: The Falcons can get through a brutal first-half of the season. Fort Campbell takes on just about every class this season as Kentucky moves from a four-class system to six. But the true test will be on back-to-back Friday's when Berner's crew faces Owensboro Catholic (a district matchup) and Trigg County (a region battle) in late October.

 

Coach's Comment: "I don't think we over-scheduled ourselves. Each one of our first four or five games will be extremely challenging but we want that challenge. I feel that if we can make it through until districts, we'll have a great shot at going a long way."

 

What You Should Know:Fort Campbell will have to adjust to playing a seven-game district schedule to playing a three-game district slate which makes the Falcons have to schedule tougher non-district opponents like Trigg County, Paducah Tilghman and Graves County.

Yeah things have a funny way of ironically turning out. All the home Falcon fans will be thinking of our away fans...we are all in this one for the same outcome. Just sure wished we could have you all home with us for this one!!! Don't worry they will make us all proud, I am sure!

Depends on what NewCath team shows up and when. If the "first-half fumbling/interception team" shows up they could be buried by half time. If the "second half run it, pass it, you can't stop us" team shows up maybe before halftime for once they could be well on the way to three in a row.

 

While we haven't seen their A game for 4 quarters yet, we haven't seen their F game for more than 2 quarters and either could happen on Saturday.

 

It will be the first time in a while that NewCath isn't out-sized on the lines like they have been against Corbin and DeSales and actually add in Beechwood and Campbell Co right before that, but I don't know if that is a good thing or not.

 

Nice preview. It seems that NewCath's depth advantage may be stifled by the Fort's. However, if NewCath plays 4 quarters, and I mean 4 full quarters, no team in 2A not named NewCath can beat them, and I hold to that.

After traveling more than two hours to Metcalfe County Friday night, the Falcons are now just one win away from reaching their goal following a 24-15 Class 2-A semifinal victory over the Hornets.

 

“Every year we make a slogan. This year it was ‘For the ring,’” Falcons’ senior quarterback C.J. Croft said. “We haven’t broke it down on ‘For the ring’ all the season, but now we finally get that chance.”

The guy who has come sort of from out of left field for FC is #2 Dexter Durrante. Bardstown had not seen much him on film and they gave the ball to him and he took us to the woodshed. Just one example of FC's exceptional depth.

 

Also, I was very impressed with Standhine, the offensive center for FC. Goes about 290, and does not let either big and strong or small and quick get backside on him. Good lineman.
