If you get 2 intelligent calls out of 10, its a big night. Nothing better than one caller asking about the UNC game and having Billy say he's only concentrating on the next game to then be followed up by another caller asking not only how UK will do in the NCAA tournament but how they will do in the Elite 8 to then be followed up on the VERY NEXT question with "how will UK do in the tournament" crap. I digress. BCG was talking about the value of the lead guard in UK's offense and defense. He said that the injury to Jasper has been "devastating" to UK and only someone who has coached his system would understand. He says DJ can defend at the NBA level and rebound at the NBA level. He says his value to UK is that unlike most NCAA guards who see their 4 teammates, DJ sees the whole floor which causes the ball to move as it should. Interesting.

I think Coach G is trying to say the right things to keep Jasper in Kentucky Blue. However, I do feel DJ has tremendous potential and could become a great player if healthy and developes the right work ethic.

I would doubt he would be gushing over a player if he didn't have big plans for him. Heck, if he doesn't think he can play or contribute, you would expect just the opposite so that maybe he would indeed transfer and open up a spot.

An average NBA team, let's say the Milwaukee Bucks, average 97.6 points a game, which divided by 48 (minutes), is 2.03333 points per minute. That equates to a high school team scoring 65 points a game, or a college team scoring 81, if my math is correct. The NBA's stat may be a little high, but you have to take into account that these people are the best in the world at putting a ball into a hoop.

CCHS_Dad Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 With a 24 second clock you are looking at roughly 3 possessions per clock minute so that is 144 possessions per game with at least 40 free throw attempts. Defense isn't too bad at the pro level....

bugatti Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 I believe many forget how the first few games last season Jasper was arguably UK's best player. Once teams defended him so that he had to shoot (which he is not good at), he lost all confidence on offense and barely shot the rest of the season.

BCG even addressed his confidence issues.
