Past Playoff Meetings

2006 - Lexington Catholic 55 Harrison County 7

Harrison Co has one of the toughest, strong nosed and most physical football programs I've seen in Central KY high school ball. They aren't fancy or rely on a bevy of trick plays, they just come straight at you, eye to eye, and I've never seen them back down. Over the past three years, our games with HC have been among the most difficult we've faced-and that includes the game with Bowling Green. Ingles Field is a difficult place to play, but I think our line play and a variety of skill players will be the difference. LC 35-HC 13, but it won't come easy.

While Harrison has definitely turned things around....I simply can't agree with your post. They certainly backed down from Marion and Franklin earlier in the year. yes...HC and Lex Cath have squared off in some barn burners over the past 3-4 years. Harrison will have to play a near perfect game and get a break or two to have a real chance to come out of this one. Cath is strong up front...and quick on the outside. Harrison will have to limit the big play and eat up clock. I look for this game to be decided by halftime. If the game is within a score at half....either way....Harrison has a real chance to pull it off. If they find themselves down by 10 or more....It'll be a real challenge to keep the kids focused and poised to execute a comeback against a very talented Catholic team.

Good Luck Harrison.

Lexington Catholic wins 28 - 7.

Catholic by 3 TD's.Speed and depth will be the difference.

If the improbable upset happens this weekend what are the chances of the goalposts coming down at Ingles Stadium? (since this will be the last game played there.)

Have to pull for Harrison in this one.........Breds over the Knights 17-14.

I understand there was a wreck involving some of the Harrison Co. players the other night. Does anyone have details? I hear Newby was one of the ones in the wreck and was injured pretty bad.

Haven't heard, that is terrible. This team seems to have been bitten by the injurie bug in the worse possible way. Coach Graham has worked wonders this year keeping them on track and focused, I'm sure he will do the same. Hope all is well with those involved and no one was seriously injured.

Both players will be out for Friday's game. Real blow to HC's chances. Due to privacy, I will not mention any names or injuries...but Dr's are saying both will be fine in time.
