I'm on your side, I think Miles is the perfect fit.

..Then why were you talking about him and his records?

I was talking about how Buzzer was saying he was having success at LSU, but that it was only with Saban's players. Just wanted to point out to him that he's bringing in the top notch talent quite nicely...:thumb:

I said Russell and the other good players that he had last year and the year before. I didn't say 1 word about Miles recruiting. I think that's 1 good thing the man can do. IMO he isn't a great college football coach. He isn't the great one people put him out to be.

Because he's lost so many games right?

Michigan is a pretty bold brand name.... Much like a North Carolina, give it a big name coach all of a sudden talent starts coming. Certainly, some of the best talent is in the southeast but I think Michigan can bring it in again with the right coach.

Michigan lost some big recruiting battles to OSU. Mainly, the Ginn connection in Cleveland.

What about Jim Grobe at Wake Forest. He has taken some pretty sorry teams and turned them around. The guy can recruit and has some fairly strong midwest ties. I think his name is going to pop up in several conversations, not just Michigan.

As far as Les Miles, he is a pretty good coach and a UofM alum. He would probably be a good fit, but I would not be surprised to see Mich. go outside the family.

If this hire (Miles) doesn't work I can see them leaving the UM family. This time I just don't see it...

I just dont think hes that good of a coach. Imo he shouldnt lose a game or play so many close games with the talent he has. He is a great recruiter though.

Let's be honest, recruiting isn't going to be a problem if he is at Michigan. I think the really interesting thing is that their offense would probably open up a lot more than what it is now. That will make a ton of Michigan fans excited and a ton of the old school folks ticked. Trust me I've been through it:)

He has lost 2 games, and probably should have lost 3 or 4 with the way they played in some of the games, with arguably the best defense in the Nation and a decent offense. They should have gone undefeated with that talent. I agree, he is not that great of a coach.

Based on the logic here, there isn't a good coach in the country...

It's nice to see I don't have the lowest football IQ on BGP...not even close for that matter...
