I don't know if Frankfort will be intimidated or not but I guarantee one thing, Beechwood will show up and be ready to play. They are in very familiar territory being in the semi's and knowing where another win will take them.

 

75 miles South is far enough away for me to not consider them as part of NKY, once you get past Walton you are out of NKY, IMO.

 

All the talk about NCC moving up to 2A, don't have the exact numbers but I think BHS is like 23-8 against NCC since 1991 so what is everyone talking about.

 

I know but the 8 losses have been recently. I just think that you'll see Beechwood break out again and emerge as a standout in 1A due to lack of a great competitor in NCC.

I'd say Mayfield knows how to win this time of year too. Didn't do em much good this year though. The last 2 years NCC has knocked Beechwood out prior to this round and unless the Beechies have alot of srs that played when they were freshmen, don't have alot of kids thats been here before. If I'm not mistaken, they also have a new coach who hasn't been here before. Tradition is great, but, I agree with above poster, it has absolutely nothing to do with upcoming game. In addition, don't you think Danville, Boyle Co, Bell Co, Russell, Male, etc. know how to win this time of year. I don't see them anywhere, so, again, every year is different and tradition is great, but, can be overblown quite a bit, cause every year is a new year with new kids and noone really knows how they'll respond.

I would say that 3/4 is a VERY conservative estimate.

I will call the KHSAA on Monday and ask them to cancel the State Finals. That way they can send all 6 titles to NKY. I know there are not enough NKY teams to capture all 6, but since NKY discovered football in this state I guess we owe it to NKY to just hand over the trophies.

Birdfan, you are correct, it was in '78 that no team from NKY played in a final but every yr since then, NKY has been represented.

There is no doubt in my mind that Beechwood will show up ready to play. That's not the question here. Just because they are "Beechwood" doesn't mean they are automatic, especially on the road against a very talented Frankfort team that I think will win this game.
