My wife braved our local wally world later in the day, I had to work. She said it really wasn't that bad. She did get some pretty good deals.

Kohls was terrible in Lexington. My girlfriend works there and she said it was insane. The topper was when they ran out of shopping carts and one lady took the wheelchair and used it as a cart. Then refused to give up the wheelchair to a person who needed it. I guess all is fair on Black Friday.

I was there when the doors opened (Wal-Mart).

Got all the stuff I was looking for.

Mad house.

I did the Black Friday thing a few years ago at the local Wally World and it scarred me for life. Little old ladies were elbowing me aside to get carts. Families were engaging in full-scale military ops with cell phones and walkie-talkies (you hit toys, I'll head for women's clothes and we'll reconnointer at electronics at 0700). I haven't participated since.

True story. A friend used to be a seasonal Wal-Mart worker several years ago. She told me that someone who was in the early morning Black Friday line offered her $50.00 for her little Wal-Mart vest so she could get in ahead of the crowd.

Future Mrs NEWCATH84 is out the door with 4 of her friends by 3:30am every year.

It wasn't bad here in Winchester at all. Got at Wal-Mart around 4:45 and they already had things out selling them that were on special. Got my

TV, some sheets, real nice Ky Hoodies for 10 bucks. Then hit Goodys, then on to Lowes...got some great deals there, then to Peoples. got my son a pair of dress shoes for $30....:eek:

 

Then to Lexington to Burling Factory Coat , bought me a new winter coat...it is sharp, also some Royal Secret...it is very hard to find, bought 4 gift sets, and my husband a kit to wash his car.

 

Then on to Shelbyville, went to Walmart...great place to find clothing with Cardinals on them..:lol:

 

I had a great shopping day.:thumb:

I got to Circuit City around 9:45pm and was #30 in line! Everyone in front of me was there for the $299 laptop, so when the doors opened, I snuck over to the TV's to be first in line. By the time I signed the receipt for my TV, there were 40 people behind me waiting to buy a TV. I bought a Samsung 50" DLP HDTV and saved $600 off retail. I was in and out in 5 minutes!

 

While it was cold and wet, it wasn't all that bad. People around me were friendly and all of the Circuit City staff were very nice and helpful. I'll probably do it again next year if the price is right.

I usually do my Xmas shopping week before Xmas.

I'll be out there fighing the crowd....with a .45.

Anybody else get a good deal on Friday?

I got nothing, but the girl I went with found a bunch of stuff. A real nice 32 inch T.V. and some toys for her little cousins.
