I understand what he was saying, but that was not so bright of a choice of words.

Only confirms my hatred for Saban....What a moron.

Agree.......never cared for him

Saban should listen closely to momma Gump. "Stupid Is As Stupid Does".

Oh My....the only "catastrophic event", was allowing Saban to speak into a microphone. Not a good comparison choice, on his part.

Certainly not his brightest moment.

I saw the whole interview and I guess he was over y'alls head. Anyone ever had to answer questions from the media?

Moron. $4 Million...give me a break.

His kids haven't played and practice well, he can only do so much. See Coach K and a host of others.

The man knows he lost to a team that lost to a 1-12 team. How would you feel? At home.

Worst loss in their History and if my coach isn't mad and standing up for the kids who were giving their all then like he said ..."run me out of here".

You people have no clue...what do you expect him to say?

Also experts...there are media guys not from Bama who follow him from a certain city who like to get him going...but y'all didn't know that. Freedom of the press...just like y'all have on here. Moron? I don't want to get banned, but I'll show righteous anger.

What does any of the above have to do with this:

"Changes in history usually occur after some kind of catastrophic event," Saban said. "It may be 9/11, which sort of changed the spirit of America relative to a catastrophic event. Pearl Harbor got us ready for World War II or whatever, and that was a catastrophic event.

Only an apolgoist blames the above on the media. As Nick would say , though: no offense.

You are right. After thinking about this more and putting myself on Nick's intellectual level, that is a wonderful analogy

Again, AL, everyone understands completley what he was saying, they stunk it up against a team that should have beaten, plain and simple; Nick did not have them prepared. Leave it at that. I know you would defend this man no matter what he does or says, but come on now.

81, he was making a point ever did that? You only read what the Saban hater and Bama basher wanted you to read. This guy is a Auburn person and for years thats his job, bashing Bama. ( y'all don't know that and I'll ease up) I believe there are writers that were around here, and gone who want to sell their papers. He was saying you can't compare a game to those issues in our history, go to Tidesports.com and watch it your self and then post.

Moron???? show some class people. When I saw the man choke up when he was talking about Pearle Harbor and 9/11.

From Tide.com:

“You know, changes in history usually occur after some catastrophic event. Maybe 9/11, which sort of changed the spirit of America relative to a catastrophic event. Pearl Harbor for World War II, that was a catastrophic event. And I don’t think anyone in this room would have bet that we would lose back-to-back games to Mississippi State and ULM, no disrespect to either one of those teams, and there’s really a reason for that. There’s a reason that these things occur relative to focus, preparation, getting it right, and I’m talking about on and off the field.”

Isn't this exactly what the supposed Bama hater said as well? Is the AP a Bama hater?

No one believes that Nick actually equates these catastrophies to anything Bama related. However, he's a moron for even mentioning REAL catastrophies in relation to ANYTHING football related. That's not hard to grasp. The man simply doesn't do well in front of microphones (see his denials about taking the Bama job).

He's no different than our former resident moron Jim Bowden who tried to equate a potential MLB player's strike with flying the planes into the towers. You simply cannot be that INSENSITIVE and IGNORANT.

Looks like another case of a bunch of over-sensitive people looking for any chance to be offended and all worked up over next to nothing...the comparison is obviously that this is a catastrophic event for 'Bama, just like the other events were catastrophic for the United States...Nick Saban didn't say that Alabama losing was as significant as people getting killed, the reporter put those words in there himself, because if he reported this the way it was intended, he couldn't get a big reaction, because there would be no need for it.

Again, I believe everyone understands what he was saying. Just not a smart way to put it.
