Have youn seen the 45 minutre press conference? Can you name one reporter from Alabama? Do you know the history of Kevin Scarbinski and Paul Finebaum.

She saw the press conference and she looked at me and said.."those people on BGPs and ESPN missed the whole symbol". Now I'm known to be a hardcore Bama fan and I get in trouble at work, church, in stores, and on the internet. I don't see things like her,lied, stolen things, and sometimes not very honest....but this girl is not like me, is an exact opposite. And when she said that brother she meant it.

You have to admit he is not above saying things and meaning NOTHING by them.

May he choose words and turn phrases more wisely from now on, and not allow different translations to seep in. Still kind of dumb to ever try to compare, or symbolize, something like an upset game into the same context as the aftermath of the lives and futures of those affected by what happened on Dec. 7, 1941 and Sep. 11, 2001. No comparison. If those kids ever get into the situation it is compared to, they will see how it pales in comparison. Saban will NEVER face a situation like he compared it to. May he never face the events or aftermath of something like that.

Larry, while I like the tide and Saban I have a problem and stated in the high school forum a couple of years ago about people saying this game is going to be a war, or we're gonna have a battle on our hands. At the time my stepson was serving in Iraq and Afganastan and was in battles and a war. I was a little touchy in that area. So I hope you can understand people having a problem with what Nick said.

Actually, Larry...not to nitpick, but comparison, technically, is for similarities...contrast is for differences, hence compare and contrast. :lol:

Again, nobody misinterperted, failed to capture the symbol, etc. to what he said or how he was trying to say it. It is pretty simple listening to him. Same goes for the administration of Alabama that had to release a statement about the comments.

9-11 and Pearl Harbor are not going away. When these things happened they were the worst thing that could have happened to us. They will aways be there, he wasn't comparing losing to ULM to these horrible events, but what did our nation do? They rose up and took care of business. We were at the bottom after these attacks, we got together and united our selves, like a person who is an alcoholic, we or they after hitting rock bottom have to pull together as one and bring your self back up. Now when he metioned the Alcoholic as hitting "rock Bottom" where is the bashing? Is he against those people? He was using an Analogy.

 

These events will be a part of us and in looking back I wished he had just used the alcoholic as an analogy to show how the team is at rock bottom and have to be united as one.
