I haven't seen Corbin play but if there any good at all, they just might beat NCC. NCC is having some dissention among the players that really effected their play last Friday. The coaches decision to play a freshman who has only practiced up with the varsity for a couple weeks in front of some pretty talented Juniors has caused some problems and might just cost them a State title.

NCC only has one player that plays the majority of plays both ways and that is OT/DE Geisler.

Part of the advantage that NCC has had since 2000 over other small schools is that their QB and primary RB only play offense. That is the same again this year along with the center, the wide receivers, and most of the linemen. A couple of players can see some action on both sides of the ball but it is limited. For example, linebackers can also see time at fullback but that may only be 4 or 5 plays a game. Most eveyone in the secondary could play offense if needed, but they primarily play defense only.

That also helps the special teams too since many starters also play on special teams since they only play one way.

That depth is really helpful when preparing in practice for a team as good as Corbin.

When is saw them play 23,56,59 75 76 and 82 come to mind as playing boths ways alot. As well most of corbin gets a breather when they need it.

That is Hog Wash. Not a good time to start that kind of stuff. What happened Friday Night was NCC was bound and determined to run the ball. First five plays of the game, it did not work and set the tone for the game. We dropped a few passes, had a few interceptions and then we decide to run the ball. I can tell you first hand over the last four years any dissention on a Bob Schneider team gets fixed fast. I just asked my son who is one of the talented Sr wideouts, who by the way played in 5 varsity games as a freshmen along with the other 4 they brought up that year. Those kids were embraced by the older players. That is all he ever talked about where the older players and how he was treated.. Now don't get me wrong but I do see your point, but as far as dissention and causing them a State Title I don't buy it. It's time we all rally around this team and bring home another state title. Only NCC beats NCC this year I hope to see you back on board

23 will play on offense as a motion receiver and some at DB/LB. 59 and 77 primarily play DT but can also see duty on the offensive line. 75 and 82 are pretty much all defense. 76 plays both ways.

The QB is actually the long-snapper for punts and is one of the best downfield cover players.

Sure your not watching the Newport wildcats. 23 is a db and comes in very seldom on offense, he may have 5 catches this year, 56 plays o-line, 59 plays D-line, 75 D-Line, 76 as mentoned is the only player to play both ways, 82 is the safety. 59 wedding came in for one play against Holy Cross. NCC was having trouble blocking #44. Wedding #59 pancaked #44 and pinned him to the ground facemask to facemask. Not really sure but it looked like #44 had no idea what had just happened to him.

The Hounds are big up front and will run the ball to control the tempo and shorten the game. Cashen throws the ball well so that you can't play 10 in the box. Hounds 21-20.

You may run the ball 3 times, but you will then have to punt. Has not happened all year, it won't this Friday either

Hounds will battle til the end. New Cath is a fine team and does many things that the Hounds have struggled with in the past to defend. New Cath appears to be more of a get in your way kinda team....basketball on grass if you will. Throw out of the gun. Run out of the gun. Tough to stop. Hounds will have to take time off the clock and win a smash mouth game. A couple of passes picked off would be nice as well. Something tells me the Hounds will leave a good impression for you Papa....they may not win, but you will know you were in a game.

Good news Bubba. I've had a good impression of Corbin football since I was a teenager. My best friend in High Schools father was an all-state player there years ago. Corbin will not come to Newport and run the ball down thid defenses throat. Have a safe trip up to n.ky

I'll venture an opinion an say that New Cath had better bring their "A" game if they expect to move on. I really think that Corbin is up to the task and this is a game that I would like to attend but can't, so I'll just wish a safe game for both teams and may the better team win.

Good observation, any team that does not show up with the "A" will go home next week.

You may very well be correct, but then again you may very well be falsely inclined...only time will tell. Never disrespect an opponent. It can be fatal. Hounds are capable of throwing the ball when they need to. Big question for me is if they can stop New Cath. If the game is in the twenties......an upset may happen.
