Well that is interesting. Not sure how much it matters but 10 of NewCath 12 games were on turf.

 

Obviously the NewCath home games this year were all on turf as well as the Beechwood, CovCath, and Simon Kenton games. Plus the playoff games were on turf. Plus both scrimmage games come to think of it. Actually the only time NewCath played on grass this year was at Ryle and at Lloyd.

Good points as the weather dicated a more cautious approach in that Belfry/Lloyd match-up. I would conceed that led to less scoring than if played in normal conditions. And I agree that this one is a close one either way too. Would like to see more long distance games among the better teams in all classes at the beginning of the year since there are fewer district games.

Yeah one trip early on isn't to bad to handle, because it will benifit you so much more int he long run.

I hope the Hounds can pull it off but two things in particular bother me. The Hounds have a propensity(and have for several seasons) to give up big plays. Against a defense like NCC's this could be a decisive factor. Also, the Hounds' inability to consistently convert on their extra points is baffling and could spell doom in a tight game against a tough opponent. I hope it doesn't come down to an extra point or the Hounds could be in trouble.

Dress warmly. Light dusting of snow on the grass and cars this morning. Roads should be fine. High is the upper 30s today. Gametime should be in the mid 30s.

The Horses are at the gate it's post time. And their off its a good start for all, for the lead in the center of the track it's (The Breds D) at the quarter pole its a blistering pace. Kues and Kelly are starting to make a (some) strong runs. AND DOWN THE STRETCH they come from the back of the pack it Ritter, Beiting and Wrobleski they are flying. Kues goes to the whip. Its Ritter with a head in front now comes Wrobleski, Kelly and Beiting with a move. They are heads apart Wow what a Game (Race). The breds win going away by 5 lengths. Ladies and gentlemen in the winners circle is the entire NCC team and to present the trophy to the winner is..........Coach Schneider any comments on your win today in the Regional Cup. Don't wear the bibs to Montgomery Inn they are a little stuffy on that side of the river. They would'nt understand a well dressed man. It's not Kentucky over there. Have a safe trip.

We play our Home games at Newport High School. We do not have a field. It is a beautiful stadium. Good lighting.
