I've seen 'em, so consider me a believer.

My house was built in 1907.

My doorbell ring sporadically. (I installed it myself when I moved in. There is one tone for the front door and one for the back door.) I have few neighbors and they have no children, but I still thought that it was "somebody" ringing the doorbells until...

It is winter and we are in the middle of a snow storm. The ground is covered with 8 or 9 inches of snow. The front doorbell rings (no one ever uses the front door). I'm excited, because now I will be able to see and follow the footprints of the offender. I run to the front door (that I am sitting in the same room with) and open it up...the porch, the steps, my whole entire front yard are untouched - all covered in perfect snow. There are no footprints to follow.

Sometimes it is the tone for the front door, sometimes for the back door. However, sometimes it is neither...it is a doorbell tone that I don't even have! :scared:

The science teacher in me wants to attribute it to electrical or magnetic impulses...and I would probably leave it at that, were it not for the "phantom" tone.

Maybe it was simply poor construction on the part of the person who installed it. :sssh:;):D

 Could be...but what of the phantom tone?

This would be a place I would love to go too. I am a member of a group who does " Ghost Hunting ". I have yet to see anything to make me run off but heard different things that make you think twice about what you are doing.

SWEET!!! I'm coming over...

Field trip!

I guess I'm a freak too. I've gotta see it!

Count me in!

Come on guys, I've got room in my Mazda Tribute!

Did it steal your phone yesterday??? :irked:

Haha, someone's being 'big timed' and doesn't like it...

I'd do some research. See if you can find some pictures of the people who originally owned the house and see if one of them looks like the person you saw.

I have never seen a ghost or spirit, but if you say you saw one, I believe ya.

A 3 story house, will often produce noises/settling and sounds. Most have the lathe walls, which often change with weather conditions.

As for the clothes, that is eerie. My best guess is, sounds like me in my 'ol college days, as nothing was ever folded....

I do really enjoy, watching show about the paranormal, ghosts and related. Hope you don't have any spirits 98.

I think the dog was the culprit in the 'laundry basket' incident...

I have never seen or heard anything that would make me believe in a ghost or spirit. I don't believe in that kind of stuff. If I did, then I would probably "hear" or "see " something. IMO, you've got to believe in it for it to happen. I suppose too many folks have beeen influenced by too many movies and TV shows. I have always taken the stance that if you're willing to take the time and effort, there's always an explanation for paranormal events. However, I have some friends that get very aggitated when I say things like this.

From personal experience, I believe 110%. I've got a story that could make pretty much anyone a believer as far as I'm concerned.

98, there should be some kind of Ghost Hunters Society or something of that nature relatively close to where you live. Contact them and they can come out or may have previous records of your home. I did that here in Louisville and what I found out after my "hauntings" was remarkable to say the least. I still get cold chills sometimes when I drive by my old place...
