I know Sandman added a few names in his "will be missed". I believe you forgot a very good player. He now is in second place of Dixie's all time tackles..That's the young man named Stephen Benson. He's done a good job all year and hasn't been mentioned much at all. He deserves to be recognized for the job he's done..

The most disappointing thing I saw last night was at half time when Dixie was going to their lockroom. There were a bunch of Spartan Youth players in their jerseys yelling BOO at the team. The Spartans organization feeds into the Dixie program and there are a lot of Dixie kids that were former Spartans players. Worst of all, Coach Spritzky was kind enough to let the Spartan kids in for FREE! Show a little respect, being a former Spartan, I was embarassed.

Punch is back went down but came back for several plays.

Word is he will be fine for next week. Hell of a tough kid who wants to finish his senior year.

I was actually leaving that honor for his father first, but you are correct. Stephen played his heart out each week for the red and grey. We will be hard pressed to replace him, he was a true team player. He played both middle and outside LB over his carreer as well as DL and even Full Back on O. He was a true workhorse for this program over the last four years and I for one would feel negligent if I didn't say thanks.

 

There are others to speak of too, so keep 'em coming. If you set 'em up I'll try my best to knock 'em down.

They did move EJ to the slot, but CovCath moved their cover guy over to where ever he was. They did a good job of covering him, and if you try to force it to EJ, then you have Bricking throwing into double coverage. Dixie needed guys other than Detmer to make plays and that just didn't happen.

 

He was in the middle of the trips a few times, but they still made no effort to get him the ball. Yes, others have to step up, but you still have to get the ball in his hands. Not once did they put him in motion.

Where were 75 and 70 last night for Dixie? I didn't see them anywhere on the sidelines.

Word in the stands tonight is that PVS is getting some college interest. 6'2 hard hitting safety that can run like the wind.

 

Some small D1 schools have sent him some legit offers. He also went on an Unofficial visit to Michicgan state.:thumb:

I was surprised to see Dixie get away from their ground game.

From what I have heard it is not the play on the field, for the most part, that has generated the discontent at CovCath, it is the handling of situations off of the field. Dealing with other programs on campus, dealing with players from other programs on campus, issues with addressing his own team, and some have been situations with actions during games.

 

If you mean Coach Brossart is trying to run a team-first, disciplined, clean, hard working program where the players take responsibility and are accountable for their actions; in other words, they are being taught to be young Catholic men that will have a positive impact on society and the world, then what you have heard is true.

75 up and quit the team a couple of weeks ago. 70 quit Thursday night before the game. These aren't the only ones. Coach Spritzky has had to deal with a lot of stuff like this all year.

I did not know this. 75 got a lot of PT at tackle and was only a junior I think. 70 has played off and on all year, and played very well last week at Campbell County. Plus, he was only a sophomore. I was expecting them to fill the shoes of the departing seniors on the line next year as they both had good size. I knew there was an issue with one other player this year, but it sounds like it was more than that.
