What were the ratings?

I haven't heard but I'll be that they were bad.

So the Tigers could have avoided being spanked 4-1 by the Cardinals last year?

Gotta love the poser Red Sox fans.

Congrats to the BoSox. Certainly the best team in baseball this year!

The BoSox bandwagon has just crashed from the extra weight of all the "new" fans jumping on :D, several were hurt...broken limbs and such from falling when jumping on the Sox wagon.

ER's and Trauma Centers are full everywhere due to this epidemic. :sssh::lol:

YES!!!!!!!!

Seriously, could I have asked for a better birthday present? I already have my shirt and hat ordered, and can't wait to have them on display for all 3 of the Reds/BoSox games in GABP next summer.

The Red Sox dominated this entire season, start to finish, both regular season, and now the postseason. Beckett is one of the best ever when it comes to the postseason, and the rest of the staff stepped it up as well. This team is going to be scary good for years to come if they resign Lowell, or go after that high priced third baseman.

As far as the bandwagoners go, I know for a fact that AJG, 98, 5wide, and myself have been fans for quite a while, but the Red Sox Nation is continuously growing, and I love it!

JMO but unless you were a fan before the first title then you are a bandwagoner

Nice analogy!

I'll be the first to say I was totally wrong. I thought Beckett would dominate then the Rockies would roll. I think the layoff and BoSox's starters killed them. The Sox are another one of those teams that can afford to buy a world series and they did it again. I like a lot of guys on that team but I wish the little guy would win.

If it were possible to buy a World Series, the Yankees would win every year. Boston has more resources than most, but we've seen by now that it doesn't mean you'll win the series. Boston has put together a nice team that has great chemistry and they don't get rattled in big situations...they're similar to the Yankees during their great run, although not quite that good, IMO.

The buying a championship is a worn out excuse that has been disproven too many times recently...it's just an excuse for the people that don't win when a big spender does win...it's funny you don't hear it so much when the Sox and Yankees aren't involved.

If it didn't crash in '04, I think it will be fine this year...

It is almost impossible to win a world series unless you are a big market team these days. For those that can afford it, the bolded part is key and the Red Sox have done a fantastic job of it.

If the Red Sox proved anything, it was that money alone will get you nothing. You need guys like Papelbon, Youk and Ellsbury who are homegrown...

I agree, however I've been a Boston fan for much longer than that....

:thumb: And don't forget about Pedroia....Ellsbury is going to be scary good IMO.

Agreed. However, most teams cannot develop enough of their own to win the ring so its a combination of the two.
