We will never be able to deport all of the illegals, forceably.

The only way to get them out of the country is to start levying heavy fines against companies for hiring them. Simply make the risk for hiring illegals far out way the reward. If there aren't any jobs or ways to make money they will leave because they are here to make money for themselves and to send back home. If they can not make money here why stay?

A couple of years ago, my parents had a Revocable Living Trust drawn up to place their assets into to protect them from probate upon their death. At the time, we did not set up a bank account for the trust. Early last month my mother passed away. She had a $20,000 life insurance policy and Dad received the check, made out to the trust, earlier this week.

 

Today, my father and I went to our local Bank of America to open an account for the trust. My wife and he had tried the previous day without success. Dad has been banking with BOA since coming to Florida and he's the kind of guy that starts sweating when his checking account balance goes below $10,000. We're not talking a paycheck to paycheck guy, like me.

 

Here's how it went....

 

Me: I want to open an account for a Revocable Living Trust for my father.

 

BOA Rep: I will need a federal tax ID to do that.

 

(I had done research and called our lawyer so I knew the following to be true.)

Me: Under Florida law a federal tax ID is not required for a Revocable Living Trust provided the Grantor and primary Trustee of the trust are the same and they or their spouse is still alive. Meet my father the Grantor and primary Trustee.

 

BOA Rep: That doesn't matter. Our policy requires a federal tax ID for all trusts, regardless of the law.

 

(Remember, Dad is holding a check for $20,000 ready for deposit.)

 

Me: Let me get this straight. I cannot open a bank account here following all of the laws of the state, but if I were an illegal alien I can obtain a credit card with no social security number?

 

BOA Rep: I'm sorry, but that is our policy.

 

Dad: It's also not necessary for me to keep my money here either.

 

BOA Rep: No sir, it is not.

 

I thanked her for her time and told her to have a nice day.

 

30 minutes later, Fifth Third Bank had a new customer. :thumb:

Maybe we should be spending the money in Mexico that we are in Iraq to help them get stable so they won't want to come and better the situation that they are in. IMO

Close the borders.

 

Cut off ALL funding to illegals.

 

Let law enforcement routinely check the status of all persons arrested for any crime and deport those that are illegal.

 

Prosecute employers that hire illegals.

Now what do you think should be done, continue the status quo because they are just here looking for a better life?

I understand there is a "no income tax" law for legal aliens that come here on work visas. I guess it is ok, for a short time, (say 3 - 5 years), but why hasn't a cap been placed on foreign doctors that come to America, benefit from our country, our insurance companies and stay forever because they don't have to pay income tax? Is there something I don't understand or perhaps just plain don't know? Does this seem odd to anyone else but me?
