Good win for the Devils! I had to listen to this one from home, but it sounded like Abrams continues to season as a durable and effective go-to back for this team. That will pay real dividends in playoffs. He will be asking for the ball in the tough yardage situations. I was surprised to hear the Mason Co Coach going for two to win, but it's refreshing to see that kind of play called. Still need to fix the turnovers, but it sounded like the secondary play improved. I like having this one in the win column. :thumb:

Abrams and the O-line won the game for Russell last night. They picked the Devils up and carried them on their backs. Abrams made some very nice reads last night and broke several long runs. It was very refreshing to see the secondary begin to jell.

 

Jones continues to play hurt. I hope he can rest that ankle over the next three weeks. It would sure be nice if he could sit out the game with Raceland. That would give him three full weeks to heal the ankle. I don't see that happening. The kid wants to play.

Mason counties Jackson Tolle played with a severe ear infection, he had to go to the hospital after the game the doctor told his parents he did not know how he played,the kid has a heart the size of Kentucky ,he had a tremendous game what a effort.

Congrats to Russell. Very hard fought but sloppy game. # 13 Abrams. One fundamental tough player and always leaves it on the field. The hit starting the 3rd Qtr by #13 set the pace for the second half. He hit that kid and moved him 7 yrds deeper after he went AIRBORNE. That is what the rest of the players have to play like. Offence & D-Fence. Russell seems to have hard time getting fired up before and during the game. Great game Drew.

Russell played very sloppy. To many dropped passes and punts & kick offs by #38. Get focused. Russell running game was moving the ball and for the like of me why PASS ??????when your stud is getting you the 3Rd and short yardage. Then you would bring him out and sub when you need the short yds for a first down?????????? Congrats to Coach Morris for working with D-Fence and making some changes. Russell improves with each game and will be ready for the run in the playoffs. Congrats to the players for staying this game to the very end.

Foster, Jones, Smith, Cornwell, Abrams, Rice, Roark, Dillon, Bender all played well on D-Fence.

Nice to make only one trip down the AA. The next time they meet will be and the HANK. Congrats to Russell. Get that Pride and turn it loose.
