October 17, 200718 yr Brohm at all levels..... next issue? I disagree. Can you give me reasons for why you think this???? Go Wildcats.............
October 17, 200718 yr I disagree. Can you give me reasons for why you think this???? Go Wildcats............. He could think that because of what Brohm has done over his career. Won over 20 games, and has took U of L to a big BCS bowl game without one of their biggest weapons in Michael Bush. Woodson has had 2 great years in a row, Brohm's team isn't as hott as Woodson's but lets not forget what this guy has done over his great career. I think it's a tie between the two of them. Both are great college QB's we will just have to wait and see how they do in the pro's. And we all seen what happened to Couch.

October 18, 200718 yr Career stats for the three... Tim Couch - 795 of 1,184 - 8,435 yards - 74 TD's. In 1998 Couch had over 4,000 passing yards and led UK to 7 wins. Couch holds the NCAA record for completion % in a single game. Couch was a second and first team SEC player, the SEC player of the year, a 1st team all american, and a Heisman finalist. Couch's big bowl - Outback bowl against Penn State. Couch had 336 yards and 2 TD's in a 26-14 loss to Penn State. Andre Woodson - 620 of 1005 - 7,436 yards - 60 TD's. In 2006 Woodson had over 3,500 passing yards and led UK to a 8 win season. Woodson holds the NCAA record for consecutive pass attempts without a INT with 271. Woodson is in the race for the Heisman this season. Woodson's big bowl - Music Coty bowl against Clemson. Woodson completed 20 passes for 299 yards and 3 TD's in a 28-20 win against Clemson in 2006. Brian Brohm - 675 of 1009 - 9,516 yards - 64 TD's. In 2006 Brohm had over 3,000 passing yards and helped U of L to a 12 win season and a BCS bowl. Brohm is in the race for the Heisman this season. Brohm's big bowl - BCS Orange bowl against Wake Forest. Brohm completed 24 passes for 311 yards in U of L's 24-13 win against Wake Forest last year. Of the three Brohm and Couch have the better numbers, but Woodson isn't far behind. Woodson has had the better success at UK then what Couch had. All three are and were great college QB's.
October 18, 200718 yr I think it hurt him in the aspect that he really did not learn to read defenses that well in that system........and I think the numbers may have distorted his value some. Couch was actually hurt by getting picked #1 because he went to a new franchise that was not managed very well. This led to him being forced to play before he was ready behind a line that could not protect him, bad habits and confidence problems ensued. Bolded is absolutely wrong. All plays had possible check offs at the line, and all routes had at least 3 different reads. Now the number of plays was always a line by ESPN as something like 15, but in reality the variations for each multiplied that by 4 or 5. Still not the 159 play Chris Palmer playbook, but not overly simple. Now as far as the system distorting the numbers, that may very well be correct. I belive that the lack of a solid offensive line, and running game hurt him more than anything.
October 18, 200718 yr The think that always impresses me about BGPreps is the plethera of ways that we can come up with new threads to discuss the same topics! :thumb:And yet you still posted on it!!!:laugh: Just like I am going to do :thumb:. Like you have said, Everyone thought that Couch would be better in the NFL than what it turned out. All 3 were/are very good college QB's. I still will give the edge to Woodson as a college QB and possibly and NFL QB as well. He just seems mentally and physically "tougher" to me. JMO

October 18, 200718 yr It may help if he would win some more football games like Woodson has against MUCH BETTER competition. I guess your memory doesn't go back farther than this weekend...
October 18, 200718 yr I guess your memory doesn't go back farther than this weekend... If you look at the 2 QBs right now in their senior year of college I think Woodson is doing better. The only proven quality opponent this season for UL is UK. UK has played South Carolina and LSU, 2 other top 10 teams. And Woodson has had a great season.
