October 17, 200718 yr Didn't Wayne also say Pete would be given every chance to earn the job when Narron was fired?
October 17, 200718 yr Didn't Wayne also say Pete would be given every chance to earn the job when Narron was fired? Yup. Point being???
October 17, 200718 yr Wayne changes his story a lot  I was waiting for, "Wayne sounds like a GM."
October 17, 200718 yr You are judging Baker based on his history with the Cubs, are you not???Which has nothing to do with the Cubs' "century-long ineptitude" ...
October 17, 200718 yr Which has nothing to do with the Cubs' "century-long ineptitude" ... Except that Baker was better for the Cubs than anyone else they have had in a long time when it comes to actual performance...
October 17, 200718 yr Except that Baker was better for the Cubs than anyone else they have had in a long time when it comes to actual performance...If you want to think that made Baker a good manager with the Cubs ... go right ahead. Those of us that watched his five years in Chicago closely know better.
October 17, 200718 yr If you want to think that made Baker a good manager with the Cubs ... go right ahead. Those of us that watched his five years in Chicago closely know better. The fact that Cubs fans have so much hate for him makes me like him even more... :bunny:
October 17, 200718 yr The fact that Cubs fans have so much hate for him makes me like him even more... :bunny:I'll give you a couple of years ...
October 17, 200718 yr I'll give you a couple of years ... Do those couple years include two winning seasons and a NLCS apperance??? :jump:
October 17, 200718 yr Do those couple years include two winning seasons and a NLCS apperance??? :jump:Gametime, you're taking your usual superficial view on things. Wins and losses don't always tell the whole story. Again, those of us that have watched Baker closely know better. If Krivsky establishes some guidelines and makes Baker follow them, maybe things can work out. Dusty, left to run things as he sees fit, will do more damage then foster success in the long term.

My usual superficial view on things? Classic. I get a nasty PM for lines like that.
October 17, 200718 yr Author Wins and losses don't always tell the whole story. So the Reds really had a good season this year?
October 17, 200718 yr Didn't Wayne also say Pete would be given every chance to earn the job when Narron was fired? The front office doesn't have to tell the truth:fire:
