buzzer beater Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 How about this guy. Johnson has been HUGE for UK this year. Coming into this season did anyone think this guy was going to catch the game winning TD's against U of L and LSU???? What a year for the senior. Coming into this year Johnson had played in just 7 games. He had just 12 catches, for 159 yards and ONE touchdown. Now in 2007 in 7 games Johnson has 27 catches for 469 recieving yards and 6 TD's. Johnson has been big all year and this man deserves a lot of love and credit.
Jumper_Dad Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 I can't remember even hearing his name before this year, he has been amazing and catches anythin that gets near him. Great Job SJ, keep it up.
stick1 Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 He absoloutly owned LSU's DB's tonight! I thought they should have fed him and Tamme even more. LSU had no answere for them! Burton was supposed to be the man with Lyons being solid. Johnson has been the go to guy thus far (Burton is dinged up a little I think). Johnson had somewhere around 7 catches for 134 yards tonight. He's a gamer!
MOUNTAINFOOTBALL Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 He's got his mug on the front page of ESPN.com... http://espn.go.com/
pioneer568 Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 All he does is catch clutch passes, he is the man.
cvillecat Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 Johnson is a very underated WR. His route running ability is one the best in the conference. I hope he can keep his personal life in order and move forward in a positive manner.
pigman Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 I would say they were trying to take Keenan away from us. With four very good recievers and a good QB it makes it very difficult on defenses.
EKUAlum05 Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 I like to call him Stevie Ballgame.... 'Cause all he does is make big catches!
bellalumni40 Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 I would say they were trying to take Keenan away from us. With four very good recievers and a good QB it makes it very difficult on defenses. Keenan had the flu all week and probably shouldnt have even been playing.
SLINK Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 Very good receiver, who played well at the end of last season.
MountainThunder Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 Keenan had the flu all week and probably shouldnt have even been playing. I knew he didn't play like he normally does. Doesn't surprise me that he gutted it out. As far as Johnson, what's not to love about this kid. Great smile, great attitude, just goes out and makes big plays. BTW, he has become one of my favorite Cats this season.
bellalumni40 Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 Stevie is definitely getting his name on some draft boards with his play if I had to guess. No doubt he would be a second day guy if drafted, but we will see him on somebody's roster next year.
h.s.sportsrbest Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 I would say they were trying to take Keenan away from us. With four very good recievers and a good QB it makes it very difficult on defenses. Keenan took himself "away from us." Sick or not, if you come to work than come to work. Steve Johnson has been huge. By the way, we have Tamme to thank for Woodson's TD run. Highsmith smelled a pass to Tamme (based on formation and field position) out of that formation and went to help the safety on him, leaving the middle wide open. Pellini was eating his lunch on the sideline. I'm a little shocked at how little a role in the offense DeMoreo Ford has had. Tamme has to be a Mackey candidate, doesn't he?
