No one can knock Gallatin's schedule.

They should have played Henry, but Evarts, Spencer Co. and Belleve is a good non-district, non-conference schedule.

Only Eminence and Bracken County are weak, but they are District games.

I believe that Bill Parcells said it like this "You are what your record says you are". Granted, this isn't the NFL, but there are dozens of teams who'd love to tout a 6-1 record, regardless of their opponents IMHO.

Is Gallatin County as good as their record is, or is the strength of schedule low?

As it is on this page today, when all is said Gallatin will have played the #3, #13, and #26 on this list. Of the 10 games they play in a season, a third of them show favorably on this list. Take it for what it is worth....

I do give the kids from Gallatin credit. I said in my last post that they have talent there. I agree 100% that Coach Browning and Gallatin Co. have done a good job this year. I just do not see them as a 6-1 team. I believe that the schedule has alot to do with their record. I am not, nor will I ever, take credit away from Gallatin boys or any boys/team for that matter. I just think that the record does not completely reflect the team. This is just my opinion, nothing personal at all, just stating my opinion on the matter just how everyone else has.

Nothing personally taken here, my friend. It is what it is with Gallatin's schedule. Last year they could only get 8 games on the varsity schedule. This year they had the full compliment of 10 varsity games. I am guessing that as the next few seasons come about, other schools such as Dayton, Ludlow and Bellevue will have openings in their schedule and we could maybe get a game or two with them. With us being a 2nd year program, I am thinking we were lucky to schedule the teams we have.

You may not see them as a 6-1 team, but that is exactly what they are. The record reflects the hard work that the Coaching staff and the boys have put into it. I respect your opinion, but stop down in Warsaw and see for yourself. This is a playoff team. Don't let the Frankfort game sway your opinion.

I think this is great, a second year varsity program drawing this much attention. Like was said earlier you are what your record says you are. If you want to go back to the first game, yes Carroll had them on the ropes the differnce is that Gallatin came back swinging and Carrol took 5 more games to get a win. That is the difference. Some of you need to realize this program is in its second season, unlike most of the teams around us. Gallatin playes the games they could get at the time, for you that dont know, these games are scheduled years in advance in most cases then you fill in who you can. From what I understand Henry will be added to the schedule next year. Looks like the biggest critics on here are from Carroll, and I cant blame you, I would prolly look for holes too in a team that has beaten my team in both of their first two games. Good luck against Henry and I hope you guys win out. :thumb:

You do not want to overschedule and create a losers mentallity. That can be one of the hardest things to overcome. Players believing in themselves and the coaches is one of the most important things in building a program and obviously Gallatin has that covered.

Nobody on here has said Trinity or St. X. The thought just came up that Gallatin could be playing better teams than who they chose this year.

Sir, you must not be aware of the adversity these kids have faced this year or the type of scheduling done at Carroll Co. I am a life long fan of Carroll Co. as I went to school there when I was in high school. Carroll plays a tough schedule including Ludlow, DeSales, CAL, and Dayton. A little bad luck as stopped Carroll from improving their record or being 6-1. Daniel Rose went down with an injury, Josh McIntyre went down with an injury, Casey Cable is in his first full year as a starter and is learning how to play the game, Zach Wise (Fresh), Josiah Nickels(Fresh), and DC Craig(Soph) are all having to step up at a young age due to the injuries in their first year of football. Carroll has fought hard this year. Like I posted in an earler thread, Carroll has been dealt a bad hand but they are playing that bad hand. I have never been so proud to be a Carroll Co. parent/fan! Those boys have never gave up and I know that the coaches will not let them! However, Carroll has yet to put 4 quarters of football together. When the game comes that Carroll does put 4 quarters together, they will be victorious. The 1-6 team that you see now can finish the season strong. Being a parent of a young Panther, I will support Carroll Co. to the end. Good luck to the coaching staff and the team as they finish the season! I won't give up on you Coach Weedman/Panthers! :thumb:

 

With all do respect, I do not believe that Gallatin has been faced with adversity like Carroll has, nor do I believe they play a schedule as tough as Carrolls. Good luck to the Wildcats the rest of the year!

I really dislike the animosity between Carroll and Gallatin fans. I think that Carroll does need to step up and give credit where credit is due. A 6-1 schedule deserves respect, especially from a 2nd year program. I think that Carroll County must persevere, but, in the same respect, quit making excuses. We are really good at that. It seems that we lose only because of injuries, officials, etc., not becuase of ability, plays called or stupid mistakes. Carroll definitely has a reputation of whining a little too much.

 

That being said, this thread is about Gallatin, and I would gladly take a 6-1 schedule. I think they are building their program the right way.
