October 7, 200718 yr Who was the last Heisman winner from a team that finished around a game better than .500 or worse? Fair or not, the team is going to have a huge bearing on Brohm, and will most likely cost him a shot at the trophy. Back in the 50's i think was the last, and it was Paul Hornung from ND. They were 5-6 i think.
October 7, 200718 yr To get a ton of yards against a prevent is more kudos to Brian, IMO....these teams are rushing 4 - 5 men, and dropping 6-7 in coverage, knowing that he is passing. Looking at his stats I am more impressed with him, than ever. The whole purpose of the prevent defense is to keep the receivers in front of the DBs and not to worry about giving up the short passes. It is very easy to rack up yardage against a prevent defense--it is just hard to go over the top on one.
October 7, 200718 yr No disrespect to BB, he's having a great individual year, but I find this post laughable. It's the truth. Thanks for playing.

On Friday alone Brian had TD passes of 32 yards and 29 yards...that's not dinking and dunking it.

October 8, 200718 yr It's the truth. Thanks for playing. It's the truth because you say so? About what I expected.

October 8, 200718 yr ^ OK....but Utah was still dropping 8 guys.....there's not much room for 30 and 29 yard touchdowns with 8 guys in coverage. U of L had something like 10 pass plays over 20 yards.
October 8, 200718 yr Booty certainly hasn't stepped to claim what many believe was his, ... frontrunner status for the Heisman. His 4 INT performance in a loss to a nonranked team they were favored to beat (at home) by 41 points won't bolster his standing. But he does still play for USC.
October 8, 200718 yr I really feel for UofL fans. It was almost painful to listen to them call in and wax sadness with Dave Regone this morning. Reminded me of UK's many bad years. One caller said "I am simply befuddled" He sounded like he was almost in tears.
October 10, 200718 yr If I had to pick a top 5 right now I would say: McFadden Hart Tebow Ryan Woodson Then there would be: Dixon Slaton Brohm Brennan Daniel
October 10, 200718 yr Right now, it's McFadden's to lose. His team's not great, but everybody else is playing their way out of it. It also doesn't hurt that McFadden IS the best player in the country.
