Heisman Race

Featured Replies

Well this season he has 259 attempts. Which puts him at 6th most in the country. Through his first 6 games last season he had 162 attempts. But he did miss some of the Miami game though didn't he?

He missed games 3 and 4. I was really going by average per game last year. He didn't have over 40 attempts once last year he has already done it 3 times this year and one time with 39.

27.9 per game last year

43.1 per game this year.

If they were winning and he was putting up these numbers I would agree but they aren't.

He is on pace to throw for 200 more attempts than any other year he has played.

Again, I don't think it's that much out of the game plan for him to throw that much....Brock Bolen has been hurt, which takes away probably our #1 rushing attack threat at the beginning of the year, and yes playing from behind will add a few attempts. But to suggest that Brian is only getting his numbers because of and against prevent defense is down right disrespectful, IMO.

I would be interested to see the break down of how many yards he has thrown in what quarter.

200 more? Try less than 100....

What? Do the math he is on pace to throw it 200 more time this year than any other year.

My bad...I thought you meant he had 200 more attempts than this time last year. :thumb:

And I still hold with my opinion....We don't have a "marquee" back this year, and with Bolen and Allen not seeing much playing time the past couple games, I think you have to throw the ball....

Anthony Allen is a pretty good back. He has 575 rushing yards and 5 TD's on 101 rushes. He had 96 yards rushing against Kentucky on just 18 carries. IMO I thought he needed more carries against UK.

Anthony Allen is an awesome back, and he DID need more carries against UK.

To get a ton of yards against a prevent is more kudos to Brian, IMO....these teams are rushing 4 - 5 men, and dropping 6-7 in coverage, knowing that he is passing. Looking at his stats I am more impressed with him, than ever.

Who was the last Heisman winner from a team that finished around a game better than .500 or worse?

Fair or not, the team is going to have a huge bearing on Brohm, and will most likely cost him a shot at the trophy.

The best QB in the nation (based on statistics) is not in your Top 7. How does that work?

Meaningless TDs down 20 points usually won't get anyone a Heisman trophy. His team is getting beat every week. And UL's offense honestly is not scoring very much in the 1st half of games. He is playing well, but no Heisman well. (Woodson did not play Heisman well either against South Carolina).

The person whos team is not doing well, but deserves credit is Mike Hart at Michigan. He has been spectacular!

Allen's numbers are skewed due to that 275 yard game, its the only game this year where he rushed for over 100 yards...

No disrespect to BB, he's having a great individual year, but I find this post laughable.
