IMO there needs to be a rule about calling a TO during field goals. I'm not exactly sure how it would work, but the all those high-ranking officials in the NCAA and NFL, I'm sure, could figure something out.

 

Maybe give the defending team 5 seconds to call a timeout after the offense is set, after that... No TO!

 

I hate the fact that coaches are making these kids kick field goals twice now. That's not how the game is supposed to be played.

The kicking team can change their signal calling patterns so that the time cannot be called so close to the kick. If you are expecting it, there's a way to counter almost anything.

 

However, the answer is simple really. Just reverse the rule change made a several years ago that allows the coach to call time out. Before that, only a player on the field could call time. The only way a player can be in a ref's ear to call the TO precisely at the time before the snap, he would have to be out of position. Hand signals take longer to do and aren't always seen.

First as far as the loss for SEC joke, some fans deserve it with the USF thread, by the way they beat Aurburn, food for thought, Im SEC fan by the way and SEC is best confrence, just one of those games, but USF over WVU wasnt one of those games, and WVU is by second team.

As far as Floridas time out bein classless, it was smart, I would do it to. And if UK did it to win, all of us, including me would vote Brooks for President.

Well thats a no brainer and already the rule. Once the ball is snapped you can't call a TO, therefore the ball is not yet on the tee?

 

As to changing the rules to prevent this, why? It is a part of the game, live with it and use it to your advantage.

This has never been a part of football until this year. Never have I seen it implemented in any great coaches tactics.

That was a nice rant, and I can see why some people don't like it, but you can't throw the cheating word out there on this can you? I mean it is 100% legal and probably won't be changed in the rule book because like gt said, you would have to change so much of the game.

As long as they call TO before the snap they can do it. It is not cheating and it has been done alot before this year. I have seen teams call 3 TO's in a row before.

 

As for the game Auburn looked faster at times then Florida and that is saying alot. Tebow and Harvin are great players but Florida needs some other players to step up. They go to LSU next Weekend and off the 13th so I could be looking at 2 L's in a row before coming to Lexington on the 20th.
