While it doesnt conventionally go to someone thats not on a very good team, what more can the kid do?

I mean he may very well be the best player in the country BUT 99 times out of 100 the Heisman goes to a player who is on a top 10 team.

Here is my top 5

1) Michael Hart-He has willed his team to back to back wins.

2) Steve Slaton-putting up huge #s for a top 5 team.

3) Andre Woodson-Down in the 4th qtr 2 straight weeks he has led his team to victory. (NCAA record for lack of picks thrown after so many pass attempts.

4) Darrin McFadden-Still probably the best running back in college football.

5) John David Booty-QB on the #1 team, putting up good numbers.

I think Rice, Brohm, White, and Brennan are also having excellent years.

Tebow????

Contrary to popular belief Brian is still in the discussion.

But the discussion is that he is off the list.... I mean really, He is a long shot to get to sit in a chair in New York now. Any candidiate with a 2 (+?) loss team will not win the Heisman. Certianly not in the modern era.

His drop is not a result of his play, but team play. If he keeps his streak of 300 yard games alive (7 and counting), ... his stock will again rise, .. as it should. He needs to be in the discussion.

Let's just say he lights up WVU, Rutgers and UC, ... 3 pretty good teams. How can he NOT be in the discussion? Those 3 teams are better than ANYONE that Brennan from Hawaii will play this entire season!

If he puts up nearly 5K yards with 40+ td's and UL is 10-2...you had better believe that he will at least have a seat.

The chances of them going 8-0 the rest of the way are very slim though....

Thats a lot of work to do, unfortunatly, it requires the whole team and not just Brohm. Its a shame that the U of L team has been characterized by a defense that cant stop anyone. This will continue to be the media "highlight" of Louisville's season. Having good to great numbers as a QB is great, just lead your team to 13 - 0, 12- 1 or 11 - 2 record. That, combined with the individual numbers proves the leadership and intangible qualities that represent "Heisman"....

Brohm has to be perfect from here on out, not loose a game and probably play defensive back some.... I know it sounds crazy but, he is the most hearlded football player ever to come out of Louisville, he is the golden boy. He just may have to play defense to help his team......

I do believe that's an offer he made to the Trinity team when we started 0-4. He's a competitor....

Yes he did. Beatty wouldn't let him do it though.

He's a competitor....

I don't think anyone questions that; clearly a young man that is easy to root for. :thumb::thumb:

The only thing is you have to produce some numbers as well. Jackson has made 2 spectacular plays all year, but he has very few yards. I don't see how he would be considered for Heisman over a Keenan Burton or Percy Harvin. He simply does not have the production.

You're right...But if he were at USC or anywhere that took advantage of his athletic ability on the football field memories of Reggie Bush in college would sooner be forgotten.

He's that good of an athlete/football player.

You'd have to think with his high football IQ, he'd at least be in position at safety, which would be an upgrade over their current starters...

Maybe they should consider moving Brian to safety and letting Hunter play QB...all for the team. :p

I think you're right in that Cal should try to get him the ball more...but let's be realistic, he's not going to make us forget Reggie Bush. He could and should be like Desmond Howard for Michigan during his heisman campaign...that's the type of player I see. And I still say he's a dark horse...if he can put up some solid receiving stats, and make some game changing plays at that position and in the return game in Cal's biggest games, staring this week @ Oregon, then he could be a factor.

His biggest plays have to come against Oregon, USC, UCLA, etc...

There are a number of worthy players to mention right now. Probably about 15 of them.
