September 25, 200719 yr I love the fact that he doesn't fumble. I also like his running style...he's very patient and has great vision, IMO...also very hard to bring down. I can see him dropping in the draft due to his size and ending up being a steal for whoever gets him. McFadden, on the other hand, I can see going high because he has all the tools and being injured all the time because he likes to lower his head and run right at people. I don't think that style will translate well on Sundays... :thumb: Every team wishes they had a guy like Mike Hart on their team. Against ND on an extra point, one of the O-lineman didn't go out on the field, so Hart sprinted out to take his place. Not a big deal, but just an example of his heart, and his leadership.
September 26, 200719 yr Author Man 3 weeks ago no one was giving Woodson a chance at the Heisman or even making it to New York. Everyone said Brohm would be there, but Woodson would not. Now Woodson is in everyone's top 5 in the media. He is a legit candidate at this point. He has been amazing! Tim Tebow has also came from not even being considered to a legit candidate as well.
September 26, 200719 yr I think it should be a no brainer between Hart and McFadden right now. They have performed great so far despite what their teams have done. After that I think it is a second tier of Slaton, Woodson, Tebow, Booty.
September 26, 200719 yr No one player has actually gone above & beyond the other competition but McFadden is without a doubt the most talented player in the country. I think he is the front runner thus far.
September 26, 200719 yr I really think the Heisman is the most ridiculous award in sports. The award says it goes to the best player in the country, but it usually goes to the best player or QB on the best team in the country. So is Matt Flynn a Heisman hopeful???? If it were "truly" based on Top 5 players here are my picks: 1. Darren McFadden - Arkansas 2. DeSean Jackson - Cal 3. Steve Slaton - WVU 4. Tim Tebow - Florida 5. Ray Rice - Rutgers But considering how the award is generally picked, here is the Top 5. 1. John David Booty - USC...High-profile QB for maybe the best team in the country. 2. Steve Slaton - WVU...Biggest name still in the chase for a National title besides Booty or maybe Tebow. 3. Tim Tebow - UF...even a loss to LSU may not stop him from winning the Heisman if he takes a rebuilt Gator team to a NC game. 4. Andre Woodson - UK...Pro material and only guaranteed first round selection off of a surprising cinderella story that is UK. 5. Sam Bradford - OU...If Oklahoma is as good as advertised the only difference in last years OU team is that Peterson is gone, Bradford is the new QB, but OU is now a national contender.

The only thing is you have to produce some numbers as well. Jackson has made 2 spectacular plays all year, but he has very few yards. I don't see how he would be considered for Heisman over a Keenan Burton or Percy Harvin. He simply does not have the production.
September 26, 200719 yr Tebow wins if I have any say... And I don't. I would agree with you 100%, as long as the beat LSU:sssh:

I totally agree. I'm not a UM fan at all, but he is hard to dislike. He fumbles like once every 3 years or something.
September 27, 200719 yr Plus he's going to lose carries to Noel Devine as the season progresses. The young pup is too good to keep off the field... Has Devine gotten many carries yet?
September 27, 200719 yr I can't see McFadden winning it if they dont even finish in the top 25 as a team
September 27, 200719 yr I can't see McFadden winning it if they dont even finish in the top 25 as a team While it doesnt conventionally go to someone thats not on a very good team, what more can the kid do?
