September 24, 200719 yr Here is my top 5 1) Michael Hart-He has willed his team to back to back wins. 2) Steve Slaton-putting up huge #s for a top 5 team. 3) Andre Woodson-Down in the 4th qtr 2 straight weeks he has led his team to victory. (NCAA record for lack of picks thrown after so many pass attempts. 4) Darrin McFadden-Still probably the best running back in college football. 5) John David Booty-QB on the #1 team, putting up good numbers. I think Rice, Brohm, White, and Brennan are also having excellent years.
September 24, 200719 yr Slaton will be hurt by Pat White they will split up voters because they are on the same team and that will hurt both of their chances of winning.
September 24, 200719 yr Author Slaton will be hurt by Pat White they will split up voters because they are on the same team and that will hurt both of their chances of winning. That is true. I think it will hurt both of them. Also I left off Tim Tebow. He is definitly in consideration also now.
September 24, 200719 yr Slaton will be hurt by Pat White they will split up voters because they are on the same team and that will hurt both of their chances of winning. Plus he's going to lose carries to Noel Devine as the season progresses. The young pup is too good to keep off the field...
September 24, 200719 yr Tim Tebow is flat out carrying UF's offense right now. It will be interesting to see how he fares against LSU's tenacious defense.
September 25, 200719 yr I think as of right now its John David Booty's to lose. About Mike Hart being overrated you are wrong. That kid can play ball, I can't stand Michigan but I do like the "heart," he shows. Leads the nation in rushing.
September 25, 200719 yr I think the races comes down to a USC stud and McFadden. McFadden will be hurt because he is splitting carries. Who does Oklahoma have this year? They are very good and could possibly go undefeated. I look for the Heisman to come from a top 5 team, no matter the stats. I'm Sorry, Brennan, Slaton, White, etc..
September 25, 200719 yr Author I think you gotta put Michael Hart in the top 5 because even though his team is 2-2, he is carrying them right now. Woodson and Tebow are both coming on strong and the 2 West Virginia guys have been amazing, even though they don't play anybody.

Oklahoma's lone Heisman hope is a QB named Sam Bradford. He's a stud, and I think a redshirt-freshman or maybe a sophomore.
September 25, 200719 yr Mike Hart is overrated. Slaton is a better pick for me. I don't think Hart is overated at all. That doesn't mean he will win the Heisman, but he is the real deal!
September 25, 200719 yr I don't think Hart is overated at all. That doesn't mean he will win the Heisman, but he is the real deal! I love the fact that he doesn't fumble. I also like his running style...he's very patient and has great vision, IMO...also very hard to bring down. I can see him dropping in the draft due to his size and ending up being a steal for whoever gets him. McFadden, on the other hand, I can see going high because he has all the tools and being injured all the time because he likes to lower his head and run right at people. I don't think that style will translate well on Sundays...
September 25, 200719 yr Slaton will be hurt by Pat White they will split up voters because they are on the same team and that will hurt both of their chances of winning. I agree......
September 25, 200719 yr Mcfadden is a very good player but Arkansas has to get some wins for him to be in contention.....
