I believe CovCath.

I like the name Cooper High School - (of course I don't live in Boone County either). It sound's like the student's really liked him.

He did.

I believe his name is spelled "Woolf", too.

I didn't really hear a lot of dissent on the naming the school after him. It just seemed right.

I agree.

Where is Cooper HS located?

Where is Cooper HS located?

On Longbranch Road, off of 42. It is really not too far from Ryle.

Conner Coach Trosper said on my radio show this past week that the Juniors at Conner were given the choice to either stay at Conner for their Senior year or go.

He anticipates around 300 leaving Conner for Cooper.

I have not heard of one.

I think Cardinals would be a good one though.

Cooper Cardinals what do you think?

My vote is for the Cooper Gamecocks...or Cooper 'Cocks ! They could call their field the Cooper coop!!

I suggested "Ramblers" in another thread. Randy Cooper was an alum of Raceland High School and was an outstanding athlete for Raceland, who were called the Ramblers at that time he was in school. My other idea was "Warriors" bc Randy was definately a Warrior. He and his entire family were loved in Raceland, I grew up on the same street/road a short distance from the Coopers . "Coop" will always be a beloved Raceland Rambler :thumb: .

Again, what an honor to have this school named after him, kudos to the ones involved in this.

R.I.P. "Coop"

Will Cooper pull from Boone, Ryle and Conner? By the map (link), They are located between all three.

About 500 from Conner, 200 from Ryle and just about 100 from Boone. All depends on the final realignment plans.

After looking at the map of where Cooper is located, I can why some parents in Pleasant Valley want to send their kids to the new school as it's basically just down the street.

It is a great honor to have the school named after Randy and I know my wife and I are proud since he was our brother-in- law. As for the Nickname I am in favor of what everyone called him "Coop Dawg" and it would be fitting to name them the "Coop Dawg's" and this is my opinion only. JD

There is already a team in the area called the bulldogs, dawgs, Holmes.

Coach Cooper was a class act and I believe very instrumental in building Ryle into the powerhouse in both athletics & academics that is is becoming. Naming the new school after him is a great honor to a very deserving man.
