September 16, 200719 yr I actually think the defense played well enough to win last night...did they play great? No...but they were playing an exceptional offense, they had two blown coverages, and kudos to Woodson for recognizing it at the right times....I hate that Louisville fans are so sudden to want to hang someone out. I thought all of those defensive problems were supposed to be addressed by this week. I remember posting way back in the offseason how many tackles, sacks, and interceptions that UL had lost off of last years team and you and Deuce dismissed it saying that the players on the sidelines would be better than Gay, Okoye etc. The blown coverages were crucial but the defense also allowed 185 net yards on 35 carries. UK's "suspect" offensive line controlled UL's defensive front all night. I will say this, when the game entered the fourth quarter I was very relieved to look over to the UL sideline and see Kragthorpe there rather than Petrino. No way Petrino throws a dump pass to the 4 yard line on fourth and goal when UK had no success at stopping Douglas all night.

September 16, 200719 yr This thread could have been made from either viewpoint depending on the outcome of the game so I really don't see the big deal. It's not like UofL fans are the only ones on the board who make far fetched comments.

September 16, 200719 yr What is funny about this is that you've had to throw away four years of this stuff before you got to use any of it. I admire the persistance.
