September 17, 200719 yr :irked: Which I why I found it laughable when Cardinal fans were touting "Coach K" as an upgrade over Petrino...you just can't lose a top 5 coach in college football (and Petrino was exactly that, IMO) and expect an improvement. Schools like Florida, Miami, Oklahoma, LSU, USC, etc...typically can't do it. It's absurd to think U of L would. I'll stick by what I said when Petrino left...Kragthorpe is a downgrade and U of L won't be as good without Petrino. So far, I've seen nothing to change my opinion... ...at this point, I'm wondering if U of L will even when any of those last three games on their schedule. They've got a lot of work to do. I agree with you that Coach K was a slight downgrade but I thought that he could still do just as good in the long run but we'll just have to wait and see. Although I don't think there is a coach we could have hired that would have been an upgrade from Petrino.

I'll be the first to admit that last year I thought we could win big again, but as time grew closer, I knew it was going to be a competitive game. Not EVERY Cards fan thought it was going to be a blow-out, or that UK had no chance....:thumb: I'll give it to you. You've been pretty good.
September 17, 200719 yr To be politically correct, I think its great to see two ranked teams in the Bluegrass. I am a Cats fan and I'm ecstatic that we beat U of L, but I normally cheer for U of L in all other games. I think Western is playing pretty well this season and Morehead State is now 2-0. Looks like football is going pretty good in the Bluegrass State this season!

U of L should still be good though. I just don't think they'll be at the consistently high level they were under Petrino.

It doesn't matter that there was a blown coverage on the 59 yard TD pass to Steve Johnson. Fact of the matter is if UofL was as good as they were hyped up to be that defensive back wouldn't have been in that situation late in the game. I don't see how everybody can place blame on that one play. You win as a team and you lose as a team, or at least thats what I've always been told. I feel for that DB (Turenne sp?) he's been taking A LOT of flak and not just on here, its everywhere.

You have to admit, Turenne has been getting the worst end of blame for a Cards lose though. I truely feel for that guy.
