September 14, 200719 yr I casually root for USC simply because of Pete Carroll. It's easy to be happy and excited all the time if you coach in L.A. and get all the recruits you could ever want. I wouldn't have anything to frown about it either.

Most of my friends don't...basically because they win too much. Even if you don't like the Trojans, I don't see how you couldn't like Pete Carroll.

September 15, 200719 yr Apparently they have more fan support than I thought... I thought I was one of few... It probably seems that way since we're not from that area. On average, they aren't anyones favorite team around here so most people don't bring them up unless they do hate them.
September 15, 200719 yr Most people like underdogs. When is the last time USC has been an underdog? I think it made a lot of people mad when ESPN, 2 years ago had them as a possible greatest team of all time, and when Texas beat them people just loved it! Yes and that Texas team was lead by IMO the best college football player ever. VINCE YOUNG.
September 15, 200719 yr I root for USC one time a year, when the play Notre Dame. They have rebuilt the program and are winning tons of game, I just think they have it too easy in conference every year and hate to see them skate thru that schedule and get to the title game without really having to play more than 1 other top team each year. Three of my top reasons for not liking them are alumni.... 1. OJ (need I say more) 2. McGwire (cheater) 3. Jerry Buss (I don't like the Lakers either)
