September 11, 200719 yr You do realize that the Bengals had pretty much just as many personell issues as the Ravens did...Not many teams can go without 3 of their starting lineman against the Ravens and still win...Not to mention Joseph also being banged up still for the bengals and Dexter going out of the game for awhile as well...So it was pretty even when it came to both teams having injury problems in the game.. Yea I do, did you not read the line directly below the one you chose to highlight?

Although it was a bad call on Heap in the endzone, the subsequent play was an obvious make up call. The Ravens had their chance again. I too didn't understand the passing. Even on the 3rd and 1 when McNair threw the pick, why not run it? At the end of the day, this was a huge win for us. Losing a home opener on Monday night would have been bad enough, but to lose knowing you could have won easily and having so much invested in the game (emotionally and physically) would have hurt us the rest of the year. It may only be one game against the Ravens, when people are touting the Steelers as the team to beat, but this was a HUGE win.
September 11, 200719 yr I agree:thumb: The Bengals competed in a very physical game. The Ravens bring that tough swagger and I think the Bengals D matched that. Going to be a lot of guys in the whirlpools today No doubt, TJ "who's your mama" is going to be in one all day long. He is the toughest receiver we have, he tooks some wallops last night. Everyone was hitting and to be honest with you, I think wiht the recent injuries to the Bills player and to Pollack we are going to see someone killed in a live game. I hate to say it and hope it never happens but at the speed that these guys are playing at and their size and strength, it is incredible. You have DB's at 190lbs and LB's at 250lbs running 4.4 40 's and taking vicious shots at receivers and backs.

I will agree that the Heap call was a bad one to make but it was definitely offensive pass interference. The fact that the official called it was beyond me at that point in the game. September 11, 200719 yr I didn't read through the whole thread, so it might have been brought up, but here's my thought(s). Is it just me, or is Brian Billick an idiot? You pay McGahee $40 Million. You're playing Cincinnati (not exactly the Steel Curtain on defense)...plenty of time on the clock, down seven, with first and goal from inside the 5 twice and you run the ball 2 times and throw it about 5 or 6...why? I would have lined up and pounded the ball with McGahee. First, I don't think Cincy could have stopped Baltimore from getting 4 yards in 4 plays on the ground, and second, it would have run more time off meaning the Bengals probably wouldn't have had time to get in FG range if the special teams did it's job. We were thinking the same thing. Very questionable play calling late in the game by Baltimore. It looked like they were on about the 1 foot line, and they were passing the ball? I bet Baltimore fans are livid about losing this one. As for the offensive PI call, being at the game, I couldn't tell if it was correct or not, but I told my son, in that situation, it had BETTER be clear. Obviously, it wasn't. We noticed the same official having a tough time all night.

I agree, why put the game in Boller's hands there when you spend a fortune on McGahee. Also throw in that Baltimore should have wanted to keep the clock moving to give the Bengals no time to go down and kick a FG.

Good question...most of what I've seen has Baltimore as the favorite, and anything different usually puts Cincy at the front. I think all three have a shot, depending on which teams get it together and play the best. They all have the talent to get it done, IMO...just depends on who answers the questions... Bengals = defense Steelers = Big Ben, new coach Ravens = McGahee, new offense

I thought being able to kick a field goal for the Bengals required personell, like a healthy kicker. Ummm maybe I'm the one missing something here but that's still my take on things.:confused:

September 12, 200719 yr When, mostly everyone one of Palmers passes were not even close to Tab...So I dont think the blame can just go on him, because there is definitelly some big miscommunication problems going on with Palmer and Tab this year.... Could be right, but Palmer wasn't that far off with his other recievers...
