September 2, 200719 yr No it will only point out the fact that the Big Ten is playing an old slower more boring brand of football and has been overrated getting blown out in bowls, and generally hogging way too much limelight. The SEC is much better and has been playing and beating 1AA schools in OOC games for years, that will not change anything.
September 2, 200719 yr I wouldn't be surprised to see Appy. State move up to D-1 very soon. Winning two 1-AA championships in a row and beating a top 5 1-A team at home is qualification enough for me. But what's funny about the whole thing is that I have friends STILL arguing that the Big 10 is better than the SEC, even after this horrible embarrasment.

I have a friend trying to say that isn't that big of a deal... He's a michigan fan...
September 2, 200719 yr I have a friend trying to say that isn't that big of a deal... He's a michigan fan... I'm a Michigan fan, and this is by far the biggest upset in college football history. Absolutely horrible for the Big Ten.

I forget how many years, but it's several.
September 2, 200719 yr Well that sucks, because Appy State is definetely worthy of being 1-A. I mean honestly think about, would they have beaten Michigan worse if it wasn't at the big house? What about if Appy State had those extra 22(?) scholarships that Michigan has? Michigan has just set their whole program back a decade IMO. What kid is going to want to play for the team that can't beat a 1-AA school? Michigan better pray they run the table the rest of the year, that is if their leaders don't give up on the season.

I love Ohio State football and am a big10 fan, I also Love U.K., Bama, UGA and the SEC - Imo there is no way that the big10 is a better conference than the SEC.
September 2, 200719 yr "Mr. Athletic Director, I have a call from Boone,NC." AD: "Tell him I'm not here!!!"

Absolutely horrible for the Big Ten. :thumb: I agree and am not a Michigan fan, not a good thing for the big10 at all. Appy State can play football, they have won back to back NC (1AA) and are by no means "sisters of the poor" but a D1 program like Michigan should have handled them.
September 3, 200719 yr I'm a Michigan fan, and this is by far the biggest upset in college football history. Absolutely horrible for the Big Ten. Bigger than Centre over Harvard 6-0 in 1921?
