August 31, 200719 yr I just skimmed over this thread and didn't see it mentioned but that WR for Murray made a RIDICULOUS catch across the middle on their scoring drive (I think). Oh man, I had forgotten about that! It was nothing short of RIDICULOUS, a totally appropriate usage, even in all caps. I can't lie, as bad as Murray State is, they had me fooled on quite a few plays. Still no excuse for the starting D to have given up 10 point, though.
August 31, 200719 yr I didn't get to see the game, so I can't comment on it. HOWEVER, I DO want to say thank you to Murray for playing us! You stepped up when the BIG boys PAID to get out of playing us! Areements to roll call of teams that have paid good money to get out of agcome to U of L: Vanderbilt, Georgia Tech, Boston College, Texas-El Paso and Duke. Can't knock U of L for playing such an easy game Would these teams be considered the BIG boys?
August 31, 200719 yr Classless by Kragthorpe... Not at all. The score REALLY could've been 100-10. Like, REALLY, REALLY. We were some football-starved blood-thirsty fans who were actually booing when Hunter didn't get to throw a TD pass. Coach K had enough care for us fans and Brohm's Heisman hopes to keep the score high, and enough class to keep it lower than it very easily could've been. I'm liking the guy more and more.
August 31, 200719 yr They'll never get to the point to where they are assured of playing for the title by going undefeated. They will get to the point where if they're one of two undefeated teams from the Big Six, they'll be in the title game, but, IMO, on most year's the Big East will be depending on only one undefeated team coming from this group...Southern Cal, Notre Dame, the SEC, Big Ten, and Big 12...obviously, there are some variable that could be thrown in, but to make my post short, I'll leave it at that. The good news is, there haven't been a lot of undefeated teams recently, so the odds are good if they can run the table. I agree, an undefeated team from a power conference would get the nod over them. Imo a one loss team from a tradition rich power conference like the SEC, Big10,Big12, etc. might even get the nod over them depending on how things fell. WVU may get a shot if they were to go unbeaten.

August 31, 200719 yr You should probably worry about YOUR pass defense ...Our offense has the power to outscore the "Big Boys" you're referring to...Does yours? Why should I worry about my pass defense, I retired years ago. If you mean UK then there is still no need to worry because they haven't played a down this season so we will wait until they do before passing judgment. But your Cards have played and the verdict is in that your pass defense (well not really your's but the Cards) according to your own fans really needs some work and if they do not make adjustments it will be even more exposed in future games and not even you can deny that. To answer your last question, Yep, it sure does. Brohm and company are the real deal, I have stated that many times but I also put Woodson and company in the same class as they too are the real deal. We'll soon see how it plays out.
August 31, 200719 yr I don't think you can blame UL for running up the score. Murray St wasn't very good and UL had to get reps in. The 1st play of the game no one was within 20 yards of Harry Douglas. Good win for UL. Good way to start the season.
