August 27, 200719 yr I guess it's easy to ignore the real reason the kid reopened... But then UK fans couldn't do what they do best....Complain and argue...
August 27, 200719 yr Minnesota has been pretty good on a couple of occasions in the past. Why could Tubby not get them to being a pretty good squad again? Everyone acts like Minnesota is just a wasteland, when they havent exactly always been that bad.
August 27, 200719 yr And futurecoach it's easy to win a championship when you are given a royal flush hand. Think about it. A royal flush hand would mean he had a team that was going to be National Champions no matter what..But that 98 team was defintely not a team that you looked at and would say any coach could win a national championship with this team. They lose two lottery picks in Mercer, and Anderson, a great 3 point shooter in Epps, and I believe another key player I am forgetting. While other teams like Arizona who returned everyone who beat us the year before with the "great" pitino when he was coaching. Then you had UNC who had more talent and probably closer to a royal flush hand than we had, because they had people like Vince Carter and Antwain Jamison on it. Then the Duke team we had was loaded as well... So Im sorry buddy but you act like any coach would have won it with that 98 team saying he was dealt a royal flush hand and that is not true. Actually I dont think even Pitino would have won it that year, and those were his players he brought in. That team most likely would not have been able to over come some of those teams in the tournament with Pitino's style. It took a great coach to come in and play with players that he had no chemistry with, and put his style on them to win the National Championship. Not just any coach would have been able to do that...
August 27, 200719 yr You have your opinion and I have mine, no need to get all hot and bothered about it. We both paid our dues on here to debate things and make friends not enemies.
August 27, 200719 yr I guess it's easy to ignore the real reason the kid reopened... Who needs facts when you can just aimlessly argue.
September 3, 200719 yr For those out of the loop, Nate Garth is still taking an official visit to Minnesota and is high on Coach Smith, his staff, and the school. Al Nolen, Jr. qualifying w/his scores had a major impact on Nate Garth's decision and there are some concerns w/Garth's transcripts. They are all in line, but there are some issues w/them that they are getting worked out, he is qualified. He was planning on going to Minnesota in January and enrolling.
